New B7 Owner - I hope !

Post by Cargav » Thu Nov 15, 2012 12:24 am

Hello all - been lurking here for a while to get a bit of expertise and prep for an RS4 purchase.

I am based in Dublin and have been looking for the right car for quite a while and (hopefully) think I have found it. It's an Ibis White car with graphite wheels registered in 2008. The colour would not have been my first choice but I think it looks pretty good and, as an 'Exclusive' edition, it seems to have all the bells and whistles. Anyone on here know the car or have any words of wisdom on what to look out for ?

I have had an inspection done on DRC / Brakes / Clutch etc. and all seems OK. Only concern is that I can't hear a change in exhaust note when I press 'Sport' button - should this be really noticeable ?

Thanks,

Gavan

FON
2008? Must be a cab. Is it the cab that was sold by a member here a few weeks ago?

It's a saloon - I think it must be a 2007 MY that was held out for registration at the start of the year.

Cheers,

New B8 question

Post by Johny1981 » Tue Nov 20, 2012 3:16 pm

Hi All,

I'm asking in for Your help in the following topic:
I would like to order a new Audi RS4 B8 in Hungary. The sales didn't suggest to order DRC in the car, becouse they had many problems with it in RS4 B7 and RS6 cars. If anyone have info from the new B8 DRC I will be appreciate to help me in the choose to order it or not. If You have any other suggest in the order of extras I thank it.

Pretty sure the DRC issues are now solved, so only existing cars can/will suffer from leaking dampers. A new car shouldn't have any of the same problems, and even if it did the warranty would cover it.

Finally picked up the car this weekend and have just put up about 200 miles on it - fantastic. Everything I hoped it would be - quick, precise and sharp when you want it to be and refined when you don't.

No doubt I will be back on over the next couple of weeks to find out all the little things I should know - so bear with me.

Thanks,

Gavan

Well done Gavan, good choice of car. Photos or it never happened!

Don't think I've ever seen a saloon in white (that wasn't wrapped).

To answer your earlier question, the change in exhaust note is not immediately obvious from inside the cabin at tickover with the windows closed. If you stand outside of the car and press the button while your head is outside you should hear it better. Won't do it if it is still on fast idle when cold though, you have to wait for revs to drop again.

Cheers Mike - still struggling with photos. Will spend some time doing a proper clean over Christmas and then post - hard to keep it clean in this weather !
