I would say unless you happen to live within spitting distance of an independent I'd steer clear of the noble. Great cars but without any dealer support now its a bit hit n miss on each car

As for same engines... Well the gallardo and rs6 have the same basic engine and even with a couple of turbos the rs6 still doesn't feel as alive as the Lamborghini.

you aren't driving the RS4, so why park an even more expensive car?
it's like sticking money in a garage, no interest, not liquid, and will only lose value when made liquid, ie, selling the car

I'm with Sonny and Arthur on this one. You've got a great car already for no extra expense.

Find yourself a nice locked in savers account for two years, then rethink. Divide it into a couple of separate accounts to minimise the penalties if you want some of it back out before then. Your circumstances may well change in that time. Last time I checked Halifax had some nice deals - always changing though (moneysavingexpert.com is where I look for stuff like that).

Between my business partners and myself there isn't much that gets past really.
Although accountant won't let me play with their veyron or sls <boo> (I think it might have something to do with when he let me loose in his slr with him in the pax seat). I wouldn't mind but he parks them on the street outside his office!

However there are only two cars I've ever had longer than 12 months and one is the b7 rs4. I think it really is that good and I only got it originally as needed something to shift the family around in but a joy driving it solo. unless you get something very track/lightweight focused there isn't much that can match the rs4 for simple driving pleasure on the road. Considering the fundamental premis of a fast saloon is flawed it still makes me giggle when you have some fun in the rs.

You do already have a great car so whilst I don't think I agree totally with sticking the money in a bank account (interest is barely above inflation and easy to end up never spending it) I would say don't rush about.
End of the day you know your own situation and if you want another car for occasional use then you go for it. With careful and shrewd investigations you won't lose too much. If you think about it there is no financial or sensible reason to buy a performance car and yet most on here have one that is expensive to tax and fuel considerably more so than a 2.0 d variant.

I can personally vouch how much bonkers fun these are an you'll not lose a penny in depreciation. If anything there is strong chance these will hold up like mk1 exige prices and even appreciate like them.

We are all so sensible here. You know what you're going to do as soon as the voice of reason that it's Arthur steps in! I'll sit on it for a while. The car is in storage as I'm not driving it at the moment. I have a Passat estate as a windsurfing car and I'm using that instead Also I'm getting work done on the RS whilst it'd in storage - alloys, new tyres and a three day detail to bring the paint back up. I'm getting her out in the summer to take her on a road trip some where. The great thing about this forum, apart from ads' extensive vehicular knowledge(!), Arthur's voice of reason and D_K, sonny and Stu's sharp comments is that you can think you've got the answer and then get persuaded completely differently. I've been looking at pistonheads all last night and truly nothing jumped out at me, in fact I ended up looking at RS4s again. This car is like a trap or the Hotel California - you can check out any time you want but you can never leave (cue guitar solo...)
