Oh C***! Someone crashed into me

And the worst part.... It was at work.... By a gritter lorry in a secure car park and I have very little proof

Totally f***ed off. I know it was the gritter because I park my car down a dead end, and the only vehicles that go past it are delivery drivers and the gritter. I also liok straight out the window to gaze at it all day and it was there at 4pm, and i left at 5:30. Came out to my car to leave work and drive off down the road. Stopped at wickes and the parking sensors start going mental. Got out and looked at the front and huge hole where the headlight washers are, massive scrape, parking sensor smashed to hell and lower grille completely missing. Drive back to work and found all the bits in the carpark, covered in grit and 2 large tyre marks inching past my car.

Reported to the police and they are speaking to the council, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. I'll speak to everyone at work to see if they saw anything.

Needs a new bumper, grills, parking sensor, possibly washer jets.

How much did yours cost to repair ringo? I just looked on ETKA and a new bumper on its own is £500.

Sorry to read this Chris. Particularly annoying when you go out of your way to park in a prime safe spot only for some f**k to drive into it and drive off like nothing has happened. At least the headlight has survived by the sounds of it? Keep your eye out for a second hand bumper!

Gutted for you as I know how this feels.

Had a similar thing a few years ago with damage to my front bumper on my 406 coupe. New bumper was around £1k before paint and fitting so £500 for a RS6 one is surprisingly good!

No consolation to you though. Sorry!

That sucks dude here are the prices i got from audi for the front bumper grills

Black main radiator grille - £160.58+vat
Grille fitting clips - £6.42+vat

Black front centre lower bumper grille - £102.45+vat

No great news. The gritting company are denying all knowledge of an accident, but as I haven't spoken to them directly I don't know what has been said to them specifically.

i.e Did you have a crash at site x
OR At site x there is a narrow car park that is a dead end. Did you drive down to the end, then reverse back all the way and think you were close to the large grey RS6 that was parked there (by the way it was pitch black and foggy). NB: There are tread marks in your grit that show you did this.

I went to a body Shop the other day to get a couple of quotes, 1 to respray a bumper if I could find a replacement second hand and another quote to do the whole hog.

The guy said my bumper is toast and cannot be repaired (which is kinda a good thing, wouldn't want a shoddy repair). I spoke to all the people on ebay who break Audis and none of them have any bumpers. One chap said the last bumper he had he sold complete with grilles/fogs/sensors to a chap in the US for over £500. There are also people on ebay who sell the front grilles (top @ £300, bottom @ £200 or both for £450) but their prices seem very close to Audi.

At this moment I'm not holding much hope so its likely that my £650 excess will be paid and I will expect a total repair. I reckon the bill will be near enough £2k.

I couldn't find a replacement used one in the last few weeks. There was in Germany but a case of "No Kanie Me Posten!"

Not sure if it's worth claiming with that excess and repair value. Have you considered the premium loading for the next few years?

Grizz is doing all the repair work for me; I should get it back this week - just waiting on the oil cooler air duct.

I was looking for a used one in case it went down the contract repair route.

The new bumper was just over £550 + VAT IIRC
