I have a short list now its got to be one of these R8 V8 - Austin Martin DB9 may be RS5 but really do not like the look of them, I want a car that will turn heads and think these will really do that, as for the servicing costs think they are on par with the 6, Could also be the C6 RS6 but really do not like the look or sound of the V10.

The R8 will be a better drivers car, but nothing gets more positive attention than an Aston Martin. The DB9 has loads of grunt and a fair few horses can be liberated with some mods (if you have fairly deep pockets )

I wouldn't get an R8 personally because I would always be aware of the power issues that engine has. That and that I keep confusing them with TTs.

Nobody would look twice at you in a C6 other than über geeks* and people retching.

* and not the cute, mythbusters girl kind of geek either.

V8 R8, you will always wish you had the V10. 3rd place
RS5, imo one of the best looking cars ever. 2nd place.
Aston, well its an Aston. If you can afford to buy and run one you must be fecking mad not to. 1st place.

Chunky, the XFR really isn't all that good. I'm in them a lot. I'm looking to do the same, around 40-50k budget for March time. I reckon I'll go 997 Turbo. A D4 S8 would be cool but I couldn't take the depreciation.
Not sure if you're bothered about that, new M5, probably out of budget this year...

SHUT UP. You change your mind more than your knickers so i think you will say the XFR is amazing soon.

The Atom and the Ultima are very nice cars but both are track cars not daily drivers.

Its just at the casle coomb meeting the few months back there was a R8 on track but was not impressed with the sound or performace, perhaps he was not really pushing it but did not seem quick up to the RS4 and RS6s out on the track, Bam Bams car was the fastest and bloody the loudest, your right i am not going to make my mind up until i actually drive one, of which i will try and arrange in the coming months, also the Austin Martin.
