Got to agree to the above.. yesterdays leaked info

Put base price at around £77,000 .. That's magically around the old C6 launch price. However the C6 had pretty much everything as standard .. I'd predict that the C7 will move a lot of the goodies to extras

I hope that Quattro writing isn't something that will be on the final model. It looks a bit tacky, especially for a class motor such as an RS6. Otherwise, looks pretty good.

Thank the Lord...proper arches! Makes a huuuuge difference, looks like its on 'roids

I have to agree with the quattro writing on the grille though, that's pants. And I don't like the dimpled, ninja turtle skin lookalike seats either. Other than that this shows a heck of a lot of promise

Yep.

I spec'd an S6....90k, admittedly I like my toys. But I can't see an RS6 not commanding a 10-15 premium over that.

I'm not so sure the C7 S6 will nose dive quite as bad as the previous model.
For a start, the S6 is quick. Fecking quick. As in Bye bye B8 RS4 quick. Being compared to F10 M5's and AMG mercs and holding up ok is not a bad start.
Sure not as dynamic but it's a start.
Plus lots of toys and easy to tune.
Sure the RS6 is going to be better and faster but if the sub 4 second to 60 for the s6 is even half right it's not going to be noticable unless above a 100mph.
I think the gap between the S6 and RS6 will be a close as it's ever been and it all depends on the price of the rs6 really. Having the saloon S6 option is also a bit of a curveball with no saloon rs6

And another thing...
Why have they made the b8 rs4 wheel arches squared off like the c6 rs6 and yet with the c7 rs4 the arches are more the like the b7 rs4?
Weird.

I'm not convinced... is it different enough to the C6 to want to change?

I'll need to see one in the flesh and give it some proper welly (and see if I can get more clobber in the boot).

Yup, I meant the likes of the 4, 6, 7, 8 etc

Air, DRC seem to be the preferred suspension solution, why?

Not sure how mag ride copes with heavier cars.
If they are using a decent air setup then the control potential would be awesome.
Active suspension anyone? Leaning into corners? The possibility is there and the level of adjustability is way more than mag ride utilising metal filings in conventional suspension.
The ultimate would be the Bose fully magnetic suspension - still prototype but great control. Seen vids of cars hoping over obsticals.

:bash:

going by the last two iterations and how they have faired in the depreciation stakes I'd say they are so far from a bargain as a new or nearly new proposition its untrue

as a 3yr old car ... yes bargain
I dont get these s6 depreciates worse than an RS6 comments.

As an example.

Used 2008 S6 say £20k with a new recommended on the road price £57k
Depreciation of £37k over 4 years of 65%

Used 2008 RS6 say £38k with a new recommended on the road price £75k
Depreciation of £37k over 4 years of 50%

Now I know that the percentage loss over that time is 15% less but you will have lost the same amount of cash over the 4 year period (£37k) and only retained the initial £18k extra outlay in the RS6 or if you opted for the S6 you would have £18k plus interest still in your pocket.

Back on topic.

I do think the new RS6 is a looker 8)
