Brake disc skimming in Kent / East Sussex - suggestions?

Post by pDkALO » Sat Dec 01, 2012 5:38 pm

Hi all

As the subject line, does anyone have a recommendation for somewhere to get the front discs skimmed at a sensible price, either on or off the car?

Suggestions appreciated, thanks, David

Cheers for that - there's nothing like a recommendation though, so if anyone's had it done round my way I'd be interested to hear, cheers all

Hi Matey,

Considered having my discs skimmed, last minute change of choice though as i thought i'd try my luck with a new steering pump at Audi Tonbridge, hated that awful steering whine that most have. To my luck, new pump done under warranty, whilst it was there, new front discs and pads £1300 later (i get vat back though of that), had them do an impromptu wheel rufurb all round, so they're back to new (no idea why i chose winter to do it, fool springs to mind), anyway, off subject here.....

When i called audi assistance some time back (RAC), i had the same chap that come and sorted our Porsche, struck up conversation and he still does work for racing porsches and Audi's, told him about my discs and he said he'd happily skim them. Kept his number, if you want it, more then welcome to get it over to you, useful chap to know, even more so knowing both your cars !!

All the best
M
The Gone List.......
911C2S, BMW735D, Audi A2, Cayenne S, 911 turbo, 911s, Range Rover, audi 2.6se, BMW X5, BMW M3, Ferrari Mondial, BMW 318ti, Shogun, Fiat Uno, 5 turbo, clio williams, 911 c4 cab, 911s, sapphire cosworth, Cooper S, Audi A4 Cab, BMW 735, BMW 740, BMW 535, Golf GTi 16V, mini metro

And not letting go of the RS4 !!!!! (Yes I know, it's gone, but never forgotten) !!!

They should be able to recommend a company that uses this machine in your area.
