Movie: Prometheus

Post by sonny » Fri Nov 30, 2012 7:00 pm

I know its been out a few months now, but I missed it at the cinema. Received my copy on Blueray and watched it last night with a few beers.

Wow What a movie, it was a lot better than I was expecting!

Very gloomy and moody...just how it should be.

Anyone else like it?

Saw it in IMAX when it came out - great film but wonder where they will go from here as there is bound to be another film just to try and explain a bit more about what went on

Really want to see this film but never got round to seeing it at the pictures.

Just got back from seeing the new bond film, very average IMO

Did anyone understand what the movie was about? I was left a bit confused what it was all about.

The movie explains how the alien race from the films came into existence including why they are a silicon based life form and how they came to be where most other things are carbon based. The next film or two will lead up to the ship being wrecked in the original film that the colonists found. If they are smart they may introduce the Predator race at some point to rescue the AVP franchise. If they made the first AVP novel "Prey" I think it would go down well with cinema audiences. Hope this helps.

Amanda, was this after a couple of bottles of wine? You sure you didn't slip your old VHS copy of Aliens into the machine by mistake? :biggrin3:

I've never been a fan of the Alien films and that put me off from watching this. Is it still worth watching even if you're not an Alien fan?
And what if you haven't seen the Alien films, does it stand on its own or does it make it less enjoyable?

No........... Its a dvd so slip of the typing fingers ............I sadly still refer to dvds as vids! Its an ok film and a good way to lose 2 hrs (alien fan or not) if you have nothing better to do but its no way as good as I was lead to believe it would be which disappointed me :( Watch it and make your own mind up though ;)

I'll probably wait until it comes onto Sky then give it a whirl one night when there's not much else on.

I was just kidding about the VHS bit, I still refer to DVDs as videos too.
