On ceramic now

Post by stas_magic » Thu Nov 29, 2012 10:35 am

Finally added ceramic to my upgrades list)
Had stock brakes with EBC Yellowstuff, Goodridge lines . Front ceramic was removed from german rs4. Brakes almost new - less then 10K km.
Done yesterday about 100 km street-road only. What can i say - THE BRAKES!
Waiting next spring to test then on Ring at higher temperatures)

Very nice fella, just make sure you have reprogrammed the ECU so the car knows it has ceramics on and also check to see if the ceramics have had the service campaign carried out.

Service campaign 46F2 (Replace bolts securing ceramic discs to hub).

It needs to be reprogrammed to alter the pulse rate of the calliper/braking system in wet weather driving. When window wipers are activated the brake pads pulsate on the discs to keep it dry. The pulse rate is different for ceramics as they absorb water.

any comments on day to day braking performance on ceramic vs. standard brakes?

I understand the heavy duty performance benefits of a track day, but can anyone comment on just daily driving these?
