Sat Nav Install

Is it possible to install something like Sat Nav plus in 1999 S4 with Concert Head Unit ??

If so any ideas on cost ??

Yes it is possible, but it will be a lot of work, even without fitting the TMC and TV tuner.

Your basic issue is that you only start with a single DIN slot for the head unit and there is no existing wiring for the Sat Nav ancilliaries.

Unless you really want the OEM look, an aftermarket unit will be cheaper, easier to fit and probably have better functionality (the SatNav system has been around for quite a while now).

To give you an idea, I am currently coming to the end of the procurement phase of my Sat Nav plus project. My car already has basic Sat Nav and a Symphony head, so fitting will be relatively easy (although I will still need to run cables from the rear to the front and so have to remove a lot of trim). I have tried to buy as much of the kit as I need from E-bay as cheaply as possible, but the parts are going to cost me about £1000 in the end (that's for a full system including TMC, TV tuner and AV facilities).

Thanks for the response.

after much thought think i'll go for something simple to start with........The new Ipaq with Tom Tom looks ok and can be transported from car to car or put away when not in use.

Not as good looking tohugh
