Like many folk looking to get an RS Audi, I found this site and have to say it's incredibly informative as well as very friendly.
Well, a bit about me. I suspect I'm of, er, more mature years than the average member on here, so I hope to set up a Saga Section fairly soon on the site

I'm looking to cross from the dark side, having had an assortment of cars over the years including 3 BMWs; my present one is a 320D MSport Touring on a 53 plate and though it's competent enough, it hardly leaves you with a big grin on your face or scares you. I get more fun in my Mk 2 Escort which runs a Rover V8 (told you I was old-skool) and will probably have to make way to contribute to an RS. Good as they are, I don't fancy an M3 and in any case I need an estate.
So the search is on, though I'm in no rush

better to be patient (if possible!) and get the right one. Even the Mrs is on-side with my quest and fully supports my "if I don't get one now I'll never have one..." philosophy. There are quite a few sound looking RS4 Avants up for sale out there at the moment and inevitably a few dodgy looking ones. I quite fancy a lowish mileage Misano red or Dakota Grey one, and Mugello blue is nice, but it's obviously also about the spec and what's a must and what's less essential. Things like full ASH or at least specialist SH is clearly essential, but I'm less sure about what's desirable and what isn't so important.
I'm in North Yorkshire, and was wondering if there are any meets in the area or the north east/Yorkshire region where I could meet owners and ask dumb-ass questions, or alternatively a patient RS4 owner who could give advice and steer me in the right direction. Please let me know.
Well enough of this senior waffle, I'm off for my cocoa and tablets and an argument with some of the other residents in the home

Wish Des O' Connor was on the telly.
Cheers guys; looking forward to the FONs and other time-honoured rituals!
