New rapid RS3 next year

Post by victor2vt » Thu Nov 08, 2012 3:52 pm

Quote from this weeks Autocar

"Audi will introduce three new rapid RS models next year, a source has divulged. No word yet on which they'll be, but an RS3 RS6 saloon and RS6 Avant must be high on the list of likely contenders"
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)
Numerous M3s

I've heard there'll be a 2 door RS3.
No matter where you go, there you are.

The next RS 3 will be here much sooner than this one did

This one was such an afterthought it was stupid

Borrow everything from the TTRS and put some new wings on

You say that....but they haven't exactly been difficult for Audi to shift. So from their perspective it's money for old rope. Literally.

He has to, he's run out of RS cars to own, it's a logical step. Why are you '3 owners so defensive?

its not a case of being defensive, more of a case of pointing out that autocar talks bollocks, they are renowned for doing PS mockups (as 30 seconds searching the web showed) and getting it wrong most of the time, they work on the principle of chucking lots of darts at a dart board blindfolded, eventually they hit it, they had a mockup of an RS3 what 7 years ago?

audi may or may not announce another RS3, time will tell, if they do it will be interesting to see if the engine and bits actually fit in the new car or if it too needs to be chopped up to get them in, and borrowing the engine from the TTRS?? its the same platform

Historically car manufacturers never release the special models early, all //M cars, RS, GT's etc all come towards the end of the cycle.

I'm guessing this is just a poor attempt to sell magazines......

Because they should have bought an M135i, or 1M.

Don't shoot me, I'm joking a little bit.

Wait list for a 5 door M135i was terrible, 1M only has three doors. My RS3 was already here (maybe fortunately) and ready to go. :bigblink:

Shouldn't you be driving a A6 Biturbo anyway Nicky, heard it'll wup the ass of an S4.....

I drove the 1M, love it, but its a weekend car / track toy

Too small in the back, no rear doors and would send me off into a hedge every time it rains, and manuals sux balls commuting into London

As for the m135. It's a peasants model, I only buy the top model in any car range :)
