Which SDHC Card

Post by P_G » Fri Oct 19, 2012 5:55 pm

With my impending acquisition of a new car I'm looking at SDHC cards that fit the 2010+ RNS-E but as with all things there are a bewildering choice. I tend to use Sandisk for most things needing memory cards but does anyone have any recommendations about which 32GB SDHC card to use? Is it worth shelling out more for Class 10 + high write sseed cards given the amount of music fiiles that will be on a 32GB card?

Any advise on this would be appreciated. :beerchug:

I'm not a big Apple fan and can't recall if I have an AMI in the car, may have a CD changer instead.

I just bought the cheapest 32GB SDHC card I could find online, seemed to work perfectly well so I don't see any point in shelling out more for a Class 10+ card.

All the RS3 come with AMI :)

Mine wasn't delivered with the iPod cable but a quick phone call to the dealer got me one FOC ;)

I tried the SD card route, any ten quid 32gb one on eBay is fine, but be ready for a headache with iD3 tagging! I gave up in the end and bought an 80gb iPod classic. Ally music fits on it and all play perfectly, they all show on both displays as well.

Life's too short.......... :)

You can opt to delete the AMI and have a changer, you can't have both.

Physically that's true as they both occupy the same position in the glovebox - but I've (as an experiment) had both AMI and a CD changer connected, and both worked correctly.

I'm sure a custom glovebox could be fabricated to accommodate both AMI and CD changer.

Why bother with ipod sockets and SD cards when you could get a bluetooth stereo setup? I wrote a how-to a few months ago and vestax32 has found an even better bluetooth-to-aux device.
