Newbie just joined :) and some questions

Post by SSASSC1 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 10:45 am

Hi Everyone...

Just joined today and I brought a nice RS6 in Blue around 2 months ago. So far so good. Its been great and I'm liking the power and exclusiveness on this fine car.

Its done around 100,000 miles and still has original DRC fitted although its rather clunky at the rear and a bit bouncy...

Am thinking of taking out the DRC and fitting Bilstein Struts.

I have a good mechanic down the road and he is good with suspension. Question is. ...

How hard is it to remove the DRC? Is it mechanical / hydraulic setup. Are there fuses to remove? What about hydraulics? Whats the best / safest way to remove all the hydraulic lines? Is procedure on how to do this?

Sorry for all the Qs

Have searched but couldn't find much on DRC unstalls

Any advice is appreciate before I tackle this..

Cheers , John :nogarors4:

*bought.

Read the Bilstein installation sticky for how to remove the DRC. It's a piece of urine.

If you are in range of Camberley then get the car down there to have DRC checked over before you decide what to do.

A working DRC is still the best compromise of ride and handling, and if yours has done 100,000 miles without failing then you have a very reliable one - may just need re-pressuring.

OK thx for that. Looks pretty straight fwd. Will take Daves advice and might it re-pressurized.

I had the car inspected by Audi before I brought it and they reported is DRC had no leaks and was ok.

Cheers

Flip a coin. Heads; get the Billies installed. Tales; flip again.
OR get a quote on getting the DRC working again and then start flipping the coin...

I had it as tails then changed it because I like the story element... and it's Friday.
