Black is a no no for definite! i fancy a change from black,

question is, if i do decide to change is wether i get an older RS4 or Newer second hand S4 V8.

both can be had for similar money.

Im leaning towards v8 rumble. 8)

well who ever it is, they'd better not tell the Mrs why he has seemingly swapped a good late model S4 for one  Oh go on then - you know it makes sense!

aaaah Women - I will never understand them!

must be something in the air......

I went and bought one too :)

It's Avus silver though,I wouldnt take a red car as a present(no offence meant to all the misano disciples on here!)

I gave some thought to a 2003 S4 Avant vs a 2000/2001 RS4,like the lines of the new shape Avant, plenty of well spec-ed ones around but its not quick enough and short of fitting a Supercharger(under development at MTM by the way),it never will be.Also in my neck of the woods it costs a hell of a lot more for road tax for a 4.2 S4 than a 2.7 RS4 and traditionally performance cars with big capacity motors(bar Porsches,Ferraris etc)as opposed to lower cc turbocharged stuff tend to spend a lot of time welded to forecourts, while the dealers take a grand a week off the price desperately trying to sell them!
The real clincher was the upgrade potential, its got the 420 brake MTM spec at the moment, when I'm bored with that I'll slap in two downpipes/cats and change the chip for 450/460....and when I need turbos and have the engine out, sure a little head work,MTM manifolds, turbos, fuel pump, water injection,etc...........should get me comfortably past 500bhp.
So its a pretty good long term prospect for me,unlike my S3,which is done and finished. Unless I build a 2.0l bottom end for it has every worthwhile upgrade going and to be honest,I've done the uber hatch thing and fancied a change and I'm not sure if I'd be happy knowing I'd ran out of upgrades.....nothing to look forward to! 8)

I pick it up this Saturday. It is standard, fully loaded with Sat Nav Plus and TV, Sideguard, Sunroof etc and low miles too. It is a perfect replacement for my lovely Misano S3 i sold in Feb. My heart overruled my head this time for certain - especially with some low mileage V8 S4's and diesels around.

VST, good luck with yours and I hope you enjoy it.

I'm sure you made the right decision mate, I certainly did getting mine...you know you got the right car when you still smile when you see it in the car park and mumble to yourself 'What an awesome car!' after several superb months of ownership.

Just noticed...first thing on your shopping list should be an 'RS4' grille badge...unless you're going for the
stealth option....

Thinking about it...Misano probably isn't the best stealth colour :jump:
