Another revenue idea: longer pages for dosh?

Post by stu » Sat Aug 18, 2012 8:24 pm

[apologies if this has been mentioned before, but...]

Today the 'Suggestions for keeping your RS4 in tip-top form' topic got resurrected. I could do with a quick read throuhg it again as I pretty sure there was some good stuff in it.

Only problem is it's five pages long.
Five times getting to the bottom and clicking on those tiny little buttons.
But I'm lazy and can't be arsed.
Yet I want to scan throught and find the good stuff again.
I'm so conflicted right now!!

So... here's my proposal. I'd pay cash for a 'one page' feature.

I wouldn't want there to be a visible two tier membership, but is it technically possible to keep things as they are for free memberships, but do one page for contributors?

Yes there would be extra data usage, particularly on photo-heavy pages, but that would easily by offset by the few extra quid.

Whatdayathink?

I think it could make Mr Ts job a little harder but I'm no computer expert so it could be easy. Not sure how many people would be on board for this though.

Fair enough. It might not be all that popular. I can think of a downside now: over crappier 3G areas. Maybe I should've sat on it for a while before blurting it out :bash:
