Re: 255/35 YR 19 ACCELERA any good ????
I had Acceleras on my old C5 and they really weren't as bad as you would expect - you're not going to find the limits of grip unless you're really pushing it. The Dunlops my C6 came with seemed to offer less performance in wet or dry conditions. The Michelins my C6 now wears are in a different league to either tyre.
All subjective of course but based on many miles of 'enthusiastic' driving.

Re: 255/35 YR 19 ACCELERA any good ????
Pretty sure in a tyre review found the accelera's to stop 18metres or something longer than a top tyre in the wet! Can't remember off the top of my head the exact figures but needless to say if you actually want to stop, but some decent rubber

Re: 255/35 YR 19 ACCELERA any good ????
Based on those test results... wouldn't shod the wheels of an RS with such sh*te... I'm not very impressed with the Vred's fitted on mine, they're OK but I would consdier them a bare minimum. I agree, most of the time you wouldn't get near the limits of them but then buying an RS6 suggest you buy a car to really enjoy the 5% you get to use it properly... so it would be false economy...
I put some Goodyear Assymetric II's on my RS2 recently and I can recommend those. Especially in the wet, doesn't even spin the wheels in 1st with about 440hp and stops on a dime.

They are actually a very good tyre
I have used them in the past (M3 eats tyres on the rear)
They are a Conti moulding (sport contact 2) and they are much better than the budget tyres available, Nankang, Fulda, Falken etc
At £90 fitted for a 255 35 19 you cant go wrong if you are after a budget tyre!

I know people are slating them, but the new Pirelli p zero gets some really good reviews. I know I have to change all 4 of mine next month, thinking p zero, Michelin ps2 or continentals,

Re: 255/35 YR 19 ACCELERA any good ????
Until recently, my mate had P-zeros on his RS4 B7. Pretty poor. Now it's on PSS and is muuuch better.
I'm always amazed that people take gambles on tyres. If there is any area where you don't prioritise economy over performance, it's tyres.
RS6 needs PS2/PSS or GYEF1 assy. Anything else and at best you are not getting the best out of the handling and at worst putting yourself in harm's way.
Still, there's a tempting argument for xcelera / linglong being considered Darwinian.
