As a dedicated football supporter, not a glory fan, I go to probably 12 Premier League matches & 4 or 5 Champions League matches & a handful of League 1 matches every season, but I must admit that I'm sick to the back teeth of the antics of some of these so-called celebrity footballers.
If one thing will force me to abandon my love of top level football it is this type of behaviour.
Maybe it's time to spend my money on some other hobby?
I know he said it - he knows he said it - if you watch the YouTube clip it's obvious what he said & you certainly don't need a degree in lip-reading to decipher it?
Hey - we all say things we regret in the heat of the moment - but at least have the balls to 'fess up to it?
I know I'm getting on, but I never quite got the cult of celebrity in this country.
You'd have to question his judgement - gets himself stupidly sent off needlessly in the semis thereby letting his team mates down & missing most probably, his last chance to get a Champions League winner's medal - bonkers. Then appears next to Platini as if he'd played on the night, lifts the trophy and won it single-handed.....
