anyway, a £3k track car does not mean the C6 has to go ....

but if an R8 V10 comes up ... hmmmm ... whats a man to do !

Darn it I'm still on the hunt for a late 09 sepang blue avant with ceramics...
Shucks if yours was to become available I would have to have a serious rethink

I am seriously contemplating buying another Cupra R 225 as now that woman's one has been modded it is simply epic fun to drive and has good handling 'out of the box' and I genuinely think it is as quick as my 6 for anything except for off the mark stuff of Warp Factor 10 top speed runs. At anything above where the R stops spinning it's wheels on command, it just sticks to the back of my beast but is so much more fun while doing it!

Bought an Eunos Roaster (Import MX5) 1.8i for the ex years ago, claiming it was a great idea when all I actually wanted to dowas go out fishtailing everywhere in it. A total hoot in the wet but if I upped the power on it and went on the track, god knows I would probably have been right up DK's already backwards ass.... That and all of my limbs stick out of it all over the place in the Eunos.

If I get another R as a daily driver, it is going to be stripped out to be as light as possible (not that the internals look/feel heavy...) and the engine turned up as high as it will go within reason with semi-decent internal strengthening. Don't think madam is going to have any of it though as she still thinks she is going to tie me down with a house, bint. ;)

I was actually a bit disappointed with the stock performance of the Cupra R 225 but the mod work made this the most transformed car I have ever owned for such simple mods, the performance difference was night & day. Also, take the prices for upgrading our beasts and slash them, bargain.

One thing though, I have been told that I have managed to kill the clutch on the Cupra already. Was nice and meaty when we got the car and in under 500 miles of the power being upped it appears to be slipping a bit in higher gears. Looking at an Awesome GTI uprated single mass clutch and flywheel kit for it. With piston/rod work etc and a bigger turbo it would destroy Brutus, I have no doubt whatsoever.
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

Sounds like you have found a beauty
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

Nice one, will be a keeper that mate. The Clio I have decided I will keep for approx 2 years. then after will upgrade (to what I don,t know). The V10 is immense but will no doubt always be cautious when taking it on track, but not due to crashing as you can drive sensibly, but if anything goes wrong with it, such as transmission or drive boots etc.

picked up my track car today.
im WELL pleased

it is proper rapido ! it pulls in 5th gear from 80 - 100 like you wouldnt believe !

apart from some road rash to the front (to be expected on a '54 plate with 70k) it is pretty mint for the age and the interior is mint and shows no wear ... pity its all coming out to be replaced by x2 Recaro's being ordered with Revolution tomorrow ;-)

That don't sound like a pity to me, Recaro Poles are they?
