Insurance Advice

Post by Bluekermit930 » Thu Jul 15, 2004 9:49 pm

Hi guys...

Just got my renewal for the RS2, £650 with £350 excess for a daily driver. Is this a good deal for me, 39 years, no points, accidents, claims or convictions and full NCD ? (honnest !!)

If anyone knows of a friendly insurance broker that can be recommended I would appreciate the phone number ?

Very annoying to find that most of the companies I tried refused to quote but you only find out after going through all the questions...

Any ideas..

Thanks

Paul

You could try Carole Nash. They told me that they would insure mine on a classic policy when it is 10 years old.........

Sounds pretty good. I'm paying a bit more for mine with Frizzell's through CSMA. 3 named drivers, two with business use, protected full NCD. Unlimited mileage. Car not garaged. I've got full NCD, no claims, points etc. But one of the other drivers had an accident in another car which put the premium up slightly (£20)on renewal this month.

When i got the car i looked around everywhere, amazingly direct line group (ie direct line, tesco and egg etc) came out top of the league.
just over a £1000 fully comp, protected no claims and 4 years discount
i was 24 then so i thought that was ok, now at the grand old age of 27 ((last week) insurance is just over £800 with same benefits. oh excess has always been around £250
oh yea clean licence living in bucks/berks border

Thanks guys,

Sounds like I have a reasonable deal, managed to get it down to £580 by increasing thee excess.

The company I am using is Peart Associate, could not beat the renewal even after many calls...

Thanks for the replies

PAUL

I am sure when i had my Porsche i was up to about 4k of the 5k a year limit with a couple of months left of the policy. I think they said it would cost 80 quid or something to up the mileage to the next band- 8k???
