I take it this is only on later model cars. ie with immobiliser. I know a few chaps with S2's that run multiple ECU's for tuning, but obviously the older ECU's arnt affected. Similar, the US guys, who cars miss of the immobiliser i guess.PhilT wrote:I think the ECU is programmed to the dash.... Not a matter of plug and play AFAIK. In fact Revo built a second ECU for testing on Andy's car, and that was only possible after the immobiliser defeat.
Wanted: RS4 ECU and Stage 1 Chip
Hey Kiwi,
I'm in the same situation as yours, except I have the ECU with 460cv MTM and I am looking for a standard ECU for warranty reasons.
I have no problem admitting it, as I'm getting screwed again by Audi France with 3 bent rims and they're saying "Defective rims ? Never ever heard... You damaged them so you pay for them".
And I'm still suing BMW France for selling me a second-hand Z3 M Coupe without Catalyzers (illegal in FR) and a fake warranty. And they dare accusing that I AM the one who took them out.
So mate, I have not a single tear coming for those car companies and the bunch of incompetents/ignorants/dishonests folks I bump too many times into there.
And I don't offer the other cheek after getting smacked on the first, my hard earned dollars at risk, no one else here will pay my bills
Cheers and I hope u'll find it.
Eric

My big problem is being in NZ, and having to put my car off the road for 3 weeks to make code changes! ie having to ship my ECU off to europe to get a new chip installed. Thus a 2nd ECU. However, it looks like the immobiliser thing has killed that thought.Taipan wrote:Hey Kiwi,
