Pretty much.
I like toys but no ceramics.
And is it true that drc is an option?
Really looks like it from the brochure.

Looked lovely at Le Mans in the correct colour, none of the silver bumper crap, rotors, buckets. I love this angle:

Hi all first time poster and sometime lurker.

Thinking of getting the new RS4 but have a few questions i'm hoping i can get some help with.

If an order is placed now, when might one expect delivery?
What are the must have extras on the car for resale value? trying to keep costs down as 60k is a stretch (but do-able) but i take it the sports package is a given. is the tech pack a must? wasnt blown away by the description and the car has sat nav as standard.

the car will be a big big change for me (currently drive the wife's mini  - any tips? will be getting rid of that, whats the best way?

What kind of insurance/road tax jumps have people seen when switching to this (i appreciate insurance has many factors behind it). Any other significant costs of ownership apart from petrol? Will get the 5Y extended warranty.

All advice appreciated!

Depends on dealer availability but my guess would be early next year for you now - that is what they have quoted at my dealer to the bloke behind me!

I think the packs are sensible and so well priced it is worth doing.

Mine comes out at £64-65k with some other bits (pano roof, keyless, memory pack....)

Depending on what mileage you do I would check discs, pads, tyres etc as I'm sure this won't be cheap on an RS4. From my experience with an S4 I would say definitely get the B&O speakers as they are beautiful. You may want to check if you like dynamic steering as some say it's rubbish. This comes as part of the sports pack I think so you may want to add things individually. I guess you're going to have to drive cars with and without certain options to determine your thoughts on the performance type options.

Echoing what a few people have said, the packs are pretty good value and will save you money compared to buying separate. I'd say the biggest costs (apart from buying it) will be fuel and tyres, especially if upgrading to 20's.
Hopefully my dealer will get one in as I'd love to have a go in one.

An open ended question, I know, but in normal driving conditions (no track), how often might the tyres need changing. How much are 20s?

Also, what is the best way of getting the best price? There are some websites that shop your specs around - is it worth going down this route or negotiating with the dealer direct?

Have most most of you guys gone with the tech pack?

I currently have:
5Y warranty
Black styling package
Convenience package
Heated fronts
B&O sounds
Sports package
Storage package

Anything I should have (or even remove)?

I would imagine 15k or so if sensible

I don't know on cost but I know my 20s on the X5 (275 front, 315 back) are between £300 and £350.

We have 20s on the Porker too but it is what it is as far as I am concenred - you can't spend £60-65k on a car and worry about the running costs!

I can't see that there will be many/any offers at the dealers when there is already quite a big list of potential customers.

As mentioned elsewhere I am almost ready to press the button on the order, we are just waiting to see if we can swap the Rotors in the Sport pack to the new V design. If not I will pick options individually less steering thingy and it will cost me £1700 more.

My spec currently with the dealer is

Sepang Blue
Lunar Silver leather
Heated seats
Conveniance pack
Sport pack incl V design wheels
Sound pack
Tech pack
Phone module
Advanced Key
boot mat
fodling mirrors
high beam assist
Power boot
privacy glass
Pan roof
Hill hold assist.
5 year warranty

personally, i would also go tech pack, power boot and advanced key to help hold on to the re-sell value - no major points, but will all help - plus they are bloody handy to have for day-to-day use anyway.
