JCViggen says they're good. That's good enough for me.

Seem to remember reading somewhere that the PSS and PSS9 cannot be bought as single items or in parts...the whole kit or fu*k all

Hi All,

I have found that the RS6 I have bought does not have the correct suspension fitted. It is in fact designed for an A6 / S6.

The car has a warranty - but will this cover the replacement of the suspension - based on the fact it could be classed as a danger????
:boohoo: :boohoo:

Thanks
Johnny

I'm not sure there would be too much difference...as long as the shocks are correct for a 4WD car of similar weight it shouldn’t be an issue

Edit
I've had a look at the options for the C5...If your shocks are Bilstein looks like the B16-PSS9 are recomended for the following Audi A6 variants
BILSTEIN B16 - PSS9 Coilovers for AUDI A6 (4B, C5) 1.8 T quattro, 2.4 quattro, 2.5 TDI quattro, 2.7 quattro, 2.7 T quattro, 2.8 quattro, 3.0 quattro, 3.7 quattro, 4.2 quattro, S6 quattro (02/97 - 01/05),RS6 (07/02 - 01/05)

I'd question the Garage as to why they think the shocks are wrong.

If the warranty is with warranty direct you have a cat in hells chance.
I'm sure someone posted that Bilstein will overhaul / recondition there suspension componants.

Hi All

Thanks for your help on this. :biggrin3: :biggrin3:

I am assuming the suspension fitted is wrong as according to below it doesnt mention RS6!! The part below is currently on my car.

http://mailshot.motorsportworld.co.uk/f ... ID=1484143

Part No. Description Fitment Price
24-065092 Bilstein Rear B6 Shocks Audi A6 (4B, C5) 1.8 T quattro, 2.4 quattro, 2.5 TDI quattro, 2.7 quattro, 2.7 T quattro, 2.8 quattro, 3.0 quattro, 3.7 quattro, 4.2 quattro, S6 quattro 01/01 - 01/05 110 -250 kW

Can someone please confirm if it is the wrong part and not suitable for RS6 and will need to be replaced. :drink: :drink:

Thanks again all.

Johnny

You could replace the strut(s) if you wanted to. If you were happy with the suspension before.

Depends what you want in terms of handling. Those struts are pretty cheap and cheerful and don't really belong on an RS6 TBH.

What's your budget? I like the PSS9 but they are pricey.
