We always had adverts for 'Extractors' at the local exhaust shops in NZ, I remember loving it when at school and telling everyone that my dad had a new big bore exhaust and extractors on his Ford XR8.

Yep. Manifold is for intake, extractors are for exhaust. Simplez.
