will 215 /40/18 fit on a 18x8.5

Hi guys,
Got some GY F1's on BBS CH 18x8.5. The tyre size is 235/40/18.

Im getting slight rubbing on the front passenger tyre.

Will a 215/40/18 fit ok on to this size alloy or even a 225/35/18.

I did think of the 225/40/18 but with a sidewall height only 4 mill less i didnt think that it would cure the rubbing (which happens on the outer edge of the tyre against the front passenger wheel arch)

Will there be any major issues with going to a narrower and less wide tyre?
