Do I or don't I?

Post by Madmonkee » Sun May 13, 2012 9:57 pm

I have been trying to sell my motor for awhile, I have a local trader who will give me half decent money for it and has just got his hands on a Black RS4 saloon with optics, there are a few drawbacks for me. 1) comfy seats 2) normal wheel 3) 5 owners :S!! DRC is all good. I have had silly offers for mine and this one is up for shy of 22k 46k on the clock. Will I regret not getting the buckets and FBSW, in place of a pretty painless transaction, Or shall i hold out for the private sale on mine? Then get the perfect spec? Choices choices.

If it were me... I'd "hold out".

You've already identified at least three things that you're questioning.... you'll probably always wish you'd waited.
VW Toe-rag V6 R-line.... no curry hooks...wtf ?

1/ the Comfort seats are fairly supportive but depends on your build, for the bigger boned the buckets particularly on the legs are uncomfy. I was reminded how much when I sat in Lambourghini buckets and how much more comfortable they are.

on point 3/ it depends on who the 5 owners are, if two are dealerships then it is so bad? If the history is OK then why not, a hagglig pint more than anythign else. Steering wheel, again personal choice. I wouldn'tt persoanlly automatically dismiss it, it really depends on what the deal is to be had on p/x yous and eventual price. I wasn't looking for a sprint blue Avant and I still have it 5 years later because the initial deal was almost too good to be true when I p/x'ed my S4.

Buckets are good for cars only used for playtime, I would'nt want to spend a long time in them

Would be for playtime, plus the odd 50mile round trip to work.

Hold out for what you want!

You will only resent the car longer term for not having the bits / spec and end up swapping again.

+1

The RS buckets are the most comfortable seats I've ever had.
Done over a 1000 miles in a weekend with no complaints.

May be different if you're a lard-ass.

I like my seats in my Vxr and they are pretty much a bucket, the comfy seats look to be the same as what I used to have in my mk4 GSI which were ok, i think the fbsw and buckets make the RS so i thinks i need them. I have some interest in my car now so I could have the cash free to make the perfect purchase elsewhere!!! Members market here I come...

Or you don't have sparrow legs. Buckets are <beep> for me because the base bolsters position my tree trunk legs on the brake and clutch pedals and I ruin the outer one when leaaning against it to get to the accelerator. Fine otherwise.
