Hi as above I would like to know which is the best diagnostic reader to get for home use, as in it may be used once or twice a year. The 2 main cars to do would be a mk1 2000 plate TT and a B7 RS4.
Regards
Chris

Do you want something that will work, guaranteed, every time - or do you like the stress of messing around trying to get it to work every time you ant to use it?
If you hate stress then get a genuine Ross-Tech HEX-USB+CAN lead (you need both CAN and dual K-line for the B7 RS4).
If you love stress then get a third-party copy.
