Two week I picked up a Clio 172 cup, as a potential track day car as the RS4 is in retirement. For those that dont know the 172 cup is a special edition model that has been engineered to be lighter. It has no ABS, no A/C, has thinner glass all round, Speedline Turini alloys, has lighter cloth seats and has a wider front track axel. This makes it 89kg lighter than a normal 172/182.
This car already has some modification done to it which are;
K-Tec DTH throttle bodies with Gen90 ECU, mapped by K-Tec.
Flyby wire removed and replaced with cable throttle
Clio 182 exhaust header.
200 crossover sports cat.
K-Tec stainless stealth supersport exhaust system.
Powerflex dog bone mount.
Spax lowering springs
Lockable aero bonnet catches (due to Throttle bodies)
Toyo Proxes T1-R tyres all round(2 fronts was brand new).
Rated to 200bhp
However before I pump money into it I will take it to a test day as Brands to see if I actually get on with the car and to see if this car is for me. If so then let the modifications begin.
The plans are as follows, done is phases as to how important I rate the mods for track.
