Yokohama AVS Sport
I use Toyos - Cheap, and perform extremely well.

I've got Michelin Pilot Sport 2's on mine and I've been very happy. Certainly a massive improvement on the original Pirelli P-Zeros.
I paid £172 each, fitted for the Michelins from Kwik Fit in Nuneaton. I think a couple of other owners also had a set at the same price.
Their telephone number is 024 7632 9494, and ask for Dave.

I think I am going to go for the Goodyear F1's ( I doubt my driving is ever as spirited as Bushy's, from what I have heard ). It is amazing the difference in pricing you can get ........
Kwik-fit wanted £780.00 odd for a set of four of Michelin Sport 2's (that was a special offer, usual price was £1025.00)
ATS Euromaster wanted £209.00 per corner for the Goodyears, about £180-190 for the other brands - that was with 15% trade discount
SKI Tyres wanted £190.00 a tyre for goodyears
www.micheldever.co.uk wanted £156.31 per tyre + £7.50 per pair for postage ( I would need to get them fitted locally )
Etyres were £2.00 per tyre cheaper, although balancing was £5.00 per rim and they come in a mobile unit - did not persue any further....
The best was a local tyre company who will do £340.00 per pair on the goodyears..
£680.00 all in - fair enough..

I got 4 Goodyear F1's for £680. I always shop around and like Tomson the difference in price amazes me.
From time to time I go into my local kwik fit more for a laugh and to embarrass them than anything else. They are ALWAYS seriously more expensive than anyone else. I ALWAYS find the local small time tyre dealers give me the best price even on internet prices, which just doesn't make sence?
I haven't done enough miles on the F1s to report whether they are good or bad. But from recent wet spirited driving last week I'm plenty happy with their wet weather grip.

I had the AVS Sports on my RS4, and they were absolutely fabulous. So much grip in the wet it was untrue. Very unlikely to see the ESP light on. I was gutted to discover that I can;t get them for the RS6 and opted for the Michelin Pilot Sport 2's..... Which are even better, ESP off, Pull out of a T junction, absolutely no loss of grip. If you do go silly and throw them around a bit you get a squeal and a nice progressive slide. The AVS's were a little "snappy" on the limit.
I would hapilly buy both tyres again.
My PS2s are 255/35/19 97Y's at Micheldever £236 fitted per corner.... but be wary of the balancing, absolute crap. Wraysbury tyres in Chertsey have a 15k Balancing machine and do a lot of work for the porsche racing teams, they get them absolutely spot on every time. They are usually very good on price, speak to Kevin. http://www.wraysburytyres.co.uk/

interesting link to Wraysbury tyres.
I've used them for tyres before for the porker and another car, and always had spot on service.
Recently been advised (via ducati discussion forum) to try them for bike tyres, and hadn't clicked it was the same place. Doh !
Previously brought bike and car tyres from Roadwheel (used to be in Bagshot), and Guildford Tyres, both who would attempt to price match.
Cheapest place locally though was Martin's tyres near the Gordon Boy's school between Chobham and Lightwater.
Hmm, time to give Steve at Wraysbury a ring

That sounds interesting, 3% - so speedo wil be out?
Yes, except where an additional gear change is required within the particular speed range.and I will accellerate quicker
Possibly - depends on what revs the maximum power is developed at, and the revs to achieve 190mph.and my 190mph top end will be reduced?
Unlikely to improve!Fuel economy?

Thought I'd bring this post back to the top, I've just bought 2 new AVS AML 265/30/19 for £152.98 each, fitted and balanced and including vat, which I thought was an absolute bargain, next nearest price I was quoted was over £40 more. Guy on the desk says they have depots all over the south as they are the furthest north, give him a ring and he'll point you to the nearest one. Didn't try them for any other brands or sizes but would be well worth asking.
