Hi all
I need some advice
My pads are getting quite thin all round, and its time to change them, but I don’t know whether to get stock Audi disks and pads or get after market ones.
What i want to know is, what combinations are your guys running and what you think are the best. I don’t want to spend out on new calipers and my budget would be around £600.
any info appreciated
cheers

I can whole heartedly recommend a combination of pagid fast road pads (the S4 pads have a slightly harder compound) and a set of slotted dba disks. Very happy with mine - improves the pedal feel no end and not suffered any fade yet as per OE discs. Not too much in it price-wise - £200 for a pair of discs, £120 for the pads (all + VAT). Give me a PM if you want more details.

had slotted discs(6 slot) on the punto GT and they made an awfull drumming noise when braking. Do you notice this on the S4? Will need discs on mine soon would appreciate your opinion. Certainly offered better braking over OE vented disc but seriously annoyed during normal/sedate driving. Was considering drilled discs for replacements, as fully floating replacements are 'kin expensive.

Can't say I've noticed any noise at all - no sqealing, graunching etc.. you sometimes get with some disc/pad combos - currently done about 7k miles on them - a cost effective upgrade if you can't afford to go the larger disc / caliper route, especially if you are replacing the OE stuff anyway.
