Post by Griffster » Wed Mar 28, 2012 11:50 pm

Hi
Does anyone have Carbon Fibre trim for a C5 RS6?
Thanks
Simon

FON.

These come up very rarely, not cheap either. Grizz might have a line on some.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Probably of no help, but I have the wood effect which I would like to change.

I'm thinking of having it vinyl wrapped instead of changing it.

I reckon this will be cheaper, less invasive and give future owners the chance of changing back.

Maybe you could try this instead of changing yours- the wrappers do a carbon fibre effect wrap.

On the other hand I have not looked into this yet so it could be complete nonsense.

There are/were bits of CF trim on EBay, but not a whole set the last time I looked- a car for breaking would be my first try.

IMHO it won't look as good as OEM trims if you do carbon wrap.

It won't have the "3D depth" to the resin set originals. I would leave the poplar until you a) grow to like it or b) find proper carbons to replace.

Sorry, no I wouldn't choose CF myself for the reasons you state (similarly with the metal finish) but the OP wants the CF.
I'm thinking gloss black for mine but it's only a thought at the moment. I have more pressing (gearbox) issues first.
