ASBO died - my comedic tale of woe

Post by HYFR » Sat Mar 24, 2012 8:38 pm

I was doing some gardening today ... was going really well in the sunshine ... needed some things from B&Q so thought I'd take ASBO for a run out

:bigwave:

Got some weedkiller from B&Q, got in ASBO and headed home

:drink:

STEAM .... lots of STEAM ... coming out of the engine bay like someone has replaced my V8 with a 1850's steam train

COOLANT RED WARNING on the dash !!!!

:<beep>_you:

I was about 2.5 miles from home so though I might make it, but it go worse .... saw a bus stop layby on the dual carraigeway I was on and pulled over

Thankfully I have Audi Road Side Assist and Audi Warranty - so wasnt overly worried

but this is where my mission just began !

Whilst walking into B&Q i was speaking to my mate on the phone ........... phone cut off .... DEAD battery !!!!

:biggrin2:

bugger ... so no battery on my phone

OK, so, some shops across the road....go into some batty groceries store ... ask if they have a BB charger .... nope....

hmmm, right, I spotted a BT phone box

got some cash out of a cash machine that was there (had to pay a fee !)

go to the phone box ... put £2 in ... dial 118118 to get the number of Audi Roadside Assist .... the thing swallows by £2 and the phone doesnt work !!!

mmmmm .... walk past a hair dresser ..... think to myself, they'll have a BB charger !

go in an ask ... nope ... so im all out of idea's so just ask them if I can use their phone, to which they kindly oblige!

so 20mins later, after speaking to Audi, they are sending out a flat bed truck to take the car to Chingford Audi, as the wait for an Audi Tech is 3 hrs

had a 1 hour wait ... thank god it was sunny...

loads of people beeping their horns at me, see a white V10 Spyder fly pass roof down and a Fezza !

anyway, flat bed arrives

off to Chinford Audi

Image

bear in mind, im dressed like a TRAMP as i've been gardening ! I turn up in an R8 dressed like a tramp !

they book me a cab and I hand over the keys ...

Cab takes me home, only for me to realise my house key is on my R8 key, which I gave to Audi !!!!!! aarrggghhhh

so back to Audi I go and then back home !

WHAT A MISSION !

Spoke with Audi Roadside and a replacement car is on a like for like basis ... but best they can get me is an A4 avant !

that will do for now, but if ASBO is going to be in a while, the I will ask for something better !

:kissmyrings:

Then I go back on with my gardening

Sorry to hear about ASBO DK :(

I have to say she looks stunning, even on the back of a tow truck. I hope she is mended for the Germany trip or Audi give you another R8 to make the trip in. The Audi tech is going to have the shock of his life when he starts her and here's your exhuast.

Oh no! At least you managed to pull into the bus stop safely and got recovered safely. Is there not a secret handshake you can give Chingford Audi to give you something half decent?! ;)

Lets hope they don't find an excuse to get outta warranty repairs as your car is "non standard".

Yeah, I was thinking that too. But it is only the exhuast so should be okay I would have thought.

Exhaust won't effect warranty (only if directly contributed to the issue which I very much doubt)

There was me thinking more mods had been done... :bash:

If just the exhaust modded then all should be fine.

I thought Audi recently said they wanted to make the different models have their own identity? So why facelift the A4 to look like the fecking A6?
