£16k B7 RS4 with 109,000 miles

Post by BillTheButcher » Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:03 pm

Hello all. :)

http://www.volkswizard.co.uk/carsforsale/wj06mzy.htm

This caught my eye recently.

If it's been serviced properly is there any reason not to get a 100k+ RS4?

Also, never heard of Volkswizard. Are they any good?

Ta. :)

Good to see a high miler......looks like these cars are built for the long term..Engines although alleghed carbon issues seem pretty bulletproof providing regular servicing and oil changes?
Looks tidy to me for 100000 miler.

if you don't do too many miles then it's got to be well worth a look IMHO

As with all cars you need to assess if the condition is reflected in the price and £16k looks good if the photos are anything to go by - though I've never been put off by high milage cars. If it has been looked after you could easy get similar bills to one that has done half the mileage which means that you can put the £10k saved towards a super charger :jump_clap:

If I was on a budget I'd consider it but what someone has to remember is that if they're pushing their financial limits in order to obtain one of these cars and then something big goes wrong with it they're up <beep> creek! I would say as long as you have 4k aside for anything that might go badly wrong then have a butchers. it might be a good buy.

Also at 100k miles it is highly likely that its had some paint and even panel damage at some stage so go over it very carefully before you buy. It might be HPI clear but damage is something that isn't always recorded. I would also call Audi dealers (and you'll have to call a couple at least to get all the history) to obtain as much Audi records as possible. Some dealers will tell you that they can't provide info and some will be very helpful. You might find its had all its panels replaced, 4 gearboxes, a new door, problems with its engine - all sorts of stuff. Also when you call the dealers, say that you are looking to purchase this car and they should be quite helpful. If you get knocked back, call another dealer saying that you are local (lie :bigblink: ) and you will be bringing the car to them for servicing and you need as much info as possible...

At 100k miles you need to see what the situation is with the DRC as well. I would imagine that its all been replaced but you never know. Your good-will Audi warranty is out of the window here though I am afraid!

Good luck

Looks a decent buy to me if its a straight car

Necks said it drive well but didn't respond when I asked if it was straight

Rule number 1. Never trust dealers

It's bad isn't it? TBH the whole site looks quite ropey. I know it shouldn't matter but having a crappy website doesn't do companies any favours, especially if they're trying to sell something.

I found this in amongst all the text:
Final work before sale will be to replace a front and a rear parking sensor which will allow us to adjust the front bumper which was refitted slightly low when the air con switch was fitted.

This is the sort of stuff you only find out on decent forums. :beerchug:

Would that comment be enough to put you off?

My last car (B5 RS4) had about 95k on the clock and my current car has 103k on it and they were/are both rock-solid. The mileage itself isn't an issue and if that's the only reason this one's so cheap then it looks like a decent buy.

I've not looked for a while and I was surprised today to see how many seemingly-good examples are available for less than £20k now.

personally, I'd just go an inspect it ... if it looked straight, buy it no problem

i would like to think Necks would be a straight up guy ... but see rule 1 above

Sorry DK, I hadn't properly looked at it when you contacted me.
It is straight and believe it or not, original paint, not even any smart repairs I can see.

This is a post from the previous owner regarding the car (he has no reason to big it up as he's just a customer to me and it's not on sale or return etc)
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showth ... t=18384679
..only came across it as their was a big spike in my web traffic and traced it back to this.
