Does anyone know if Milltek 100 cell cats will pass the new mot regs coming in?

Thanks for any help

I would guess so as I thought the new regs were to prevent the removal of a cat where one is present, if the vehicle is subject to an emissions test, so provided the car passes emmisions I don't see why it should fail ?

The car will fail if factory fitted cats are removed, as in totally removed/missing. Having sports cats will not fail unless the emissions are wrong

How many cells are the OEM, just out of curiosity? And if they are significantly more dense, why do manufacturers like Audi use them (the assumption being that more cells= more exotic catalyst metals = more expense?)

800 in total if i remember correctly including the pre cats, the gains are very worthwhile and across the full rev range but must be properly mapped otherwise you wont see any gains

I have 100Cels and they passed Irish equivalent MOT which is more stringent that UK version on emissions. And yes they are loud.

I've just found an ealier thread that talks a little about this - seems to be a bit of a grey area
