Talking of Autotrader just noticed this:

1995 AUDI RS2 Avant
RHD, N Registration, Volcano Black, black leather with grey alcantara interior, full service history (Audi / Quattro Sports / AMD), 142K miles, completely original, fastidiously maintained (recent work inc. replace all belts, bushes, top mounts, discs/pads plus rebuild of handbrake), new OE alloys, Cat. 1 alarm, CD multi-changer. £11995.
Tel: 01428 648414 or 07798 920071
Email: Email Advertiser
Distance: 23 miles
Price: £11,995

Sounds promising. At least with this sort of sale you can knock them down from a known maximum price.

Yes that is a nice example & low miles with warranty.
Would cost close to 20K from a garage.

Nice car! I'll keep an eye on that one over the next few days. Although looking at that Auto Trader advert I have started to think Volcano Black might be my preferred colour...

ebay seller wrote:....serviced 5 times by a specialist up to 101,000 miles in February 1999. The second owner acquired it in June 1999 and it had an oil change service in July at 106,000. At this point there is a gap in the progression until May 2002 at 151,000 when it had an oil change service and a brake fluid change. However, I am assured that it did not miss a service during this time, it is just that the book was not stamped. I will have the documents covering this period by the weekend. The last major service was in April 2003 at 162,000 miles......
That service history gap is scary! A gap of 3 years but only 45000 miles, when it could have easily done 90000 miles. No mention of the invoices, old MOTs or bills. Still a bargain price for one of the worlds most influential cars. May the new owner extract maximum enjoyment.

I dream but sadly not. Have a soft spot for loony Audi Avants, best mates family wheels is an S2, such traction, performance and braking. Fittingly, the rain was coming down first time I had the pleasure of being a passenger in that car. Love the totally standard appearance, the shooting brake body but the turbo torque via quattro. Imagine the RS2 is simply heaven to drive, bar a heavy clutch if the S2 is anything to go by?!

Thanks for the welcome :)

We both live in Bedford off Kimbolton Rd. The S2 Avant is [Kingfisher?] Green met, a 1993 plated K15 followed by three initials. It is standard looking bar subtle 16" Mille Miglias; the big red callipers they house only give the game away.....  :P

Greg and David, being 'locals', you familiar with AmD then I guess: Service your RS2s there?

The last time I checked it was up at £19,750 and then it was withdrawn. So I guess he got just over 20K for it.
I think the guy with the latest one must have seen that and then thought he would give his a punt, after all there must be some interested bidders out there at present. Also I think you only get pretty low offers if you are looking to trade in at the moment.

By the way, good to see you at the weekend Robo up at GTI International. Just a shame about the weather in the afternoon.
