@Gazzaton: This is one thing I have to deal with every single day. There is a roundabout en-route to my office which has 3 lanes, 4 exits and no markings. I need to come off at the 3rd exit, so use the middle lane, but people always seem to assume the first lane is the correct lane to come off at the 3rd or 4th exit.

@guffy: Thanks for the comment.
In regards to the clean, they didn't put mine on the dyno after the clean, but if you check out their Facebook page, they have plenty of cars which show figures before and after a clean.

@Chrishumes: You can see their prices here: http://www.mrctuning.com/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=59
Cleaning Intake Ports
Ports cleaned, valve and valve seats cleaned.
From
£897.60
From what I've read/seen, the loss depends on the mileage and how the car has been driven throughout it's life - if it has been driven hard often, there is less of a build up (am I right?). It may be worth getting it on a dyno to see where it's at.
As for who else does this, not sure myself on that one, but I'm sure someone else on here could advise on that.

@RSDave: Thanks. Working on the internet is definitely profitable and as they say, work hard, play hard :)

@andre3000: Thanks too. Not THE Andre 3000 are you? :biggrin2: As for the plates, when I bought the car it came with German style pressed plates, which the last owner had put on the car. I swapped them out earlier this week though as they were illegal and I don't really want to draw attention from the boys in blue.

TimDogg wrote:Probably a good call Muneer as the non-res does get louder with age. 21 eh? Bro, I don't want to be impolite but a lot of young guys get killed driving cars like these as they give you such confidence. My father was a police traffic officer for 37 years and drove all the new BMWs, Volvo T5s etc and picked up dead people who thought they knew better everyday from road accidents. He died last year from complications resulting from alcohol abuse and stress but before he died he said to me that it was a waste to die on the roads and that seeing people getting killed needlessly for those many years had taken its toll. Be safe out there bro - you have bought a car that will look after you to a point but after that, physics takes over. Basically, when you get it wrong, and we all do at some point, it will go wrong very quickly as you will be at a much higher speed than you would be in a normal car. Keep it chilled buddy, I teach young guys to fly fast jets in the RAF so I see this a lot, I don't mean to patronise - I have a Sprint Blue too,but don't want to see another RS4 wrapped around a tree - take care and use the forum here for support, it is in a class of its own.

Sound advice...Know your and the cars limits...
Stay safe.Your a long time dead as they say...
You do not need to prove anything to anybody with the choice of vehicle...

Congratulations and Enjoy!!!

Muneer wrote:@TimDogg: Thanks for the thoughts/advice. I completely agree with everything you said there. I know most drivers my age think we know everything and do tend to show off.
Just recently I heard about 2 19-20 year olds local to me, that had passed away due to the driver pushing his new Fiesta ST and his capabilities to more than their limit. He overtook a vehicle on a tight a road (at some speed) and drove straight into a tour bus, full of people. No one on the bus was hurt, but the car was totalled and the driver and his friend both passed away.

Things like this do drive home the fact that all cars out there are machines which can kill, and the RS4 is one which can do this quite easily.
I have a lot of respect for the car and what it can do. I won't lie, I have put my foot down a bit on empty dual carriageways when I'm on my own, but not at any other time as my worst fear is killing somebody innocent, due to my actions.
I've been driving for almost 5 years now without a single accident *touch wood*, but I know I still have a lot to learn and experience, which will come with time.

Good response!!! You seem like a young guy with his head screwed on!! a rare thing these days....good luck with the car..have fun and enjoy.

And dont be tempted by the arsehole boyracers trying to bait you!! it happens a lot.

Thanks guys.

When I bought the car, the last owner said something quite similar to me. Everyone knows what these cars are and what they are capable of, it has nothing to prove and especially not to a young boy racer.

Congrats on your car Muneer. I was lucky enough to get mine brand new when I was 26, enjoy it in good health.

Can you elaborate some more about the cold air intake mod? Is it a new airbox like the Gruppe M or is it a kit including a hose to go from the front foglight vent, aux radiator delete, and into the airbox?

Thanks

Thanks!

The cold air feed mod was the latter of what you said, it's not a new airbox, but deleted rad and a feed going from the foglight vent, to the OE airbox and the flap removed.
Here is the description from MRC's site:
Removal of RHS radiator, air box flap and addition of cold air feed with trumpet. This will give more consistant intake temperatures and with a high flow air filter is the best you can do for consistant low temperature and high flow intakes.

Thanks

Saif, I don't have any pics, but if I get the chance I'll take some, sometime this week.

Echo the above comments - I think everybody here (myslef included) would have loved (IE, killed for ;)) an RS4 at 21.
You can get yourself killed in anycar but at least the RS4 will try to look after you as best it can and is forgiving of mistakes that we all make regardless of age and experience.
Much better than say a RWD porsche 911 or a shed thats falling to bits.

The great thing with a miltek is that most traffic light "incidents" can simply be avoided with a good stab of the right foot whilst waiting. The noise puts off more than a fair share of established fast cars.
The ones to look out for are the cahvv'd up novas/saxos who try to goad you into a scenario best avoided. After all, doesn't matter what you drive or who you are if somebody else screws up and hits you!
