holy ****!! theyre sending prices through but sounds like its going to be over £600 inc vat! the benefits are better initial bite, last twice as long, dont wear the discs and dont produce brake dust(as there's no metal in them)

they sound good but £600! stroll on!

I don't see how they couldn't wear the disks... Sounds like snake oil to me :)

im sure they would wear but at a much lesser rate as there's no metal in the pads. R53 are a proper top end motorsport(and now mountainbikes as well!) outfit. most of their gear is for track and race use. theyre a supplier of mine so basically doing this as a favour(if i can dig deep enough!). no reason for them to BS me. im tempted to try them just to see if theyre right!

Interesting :) Could be a good way to save on disks ;)

Mintex for the price work very well. Tried them at 165mph, up and down the alps and never got a hint of fade.

I well well done that man as I manage to get detectable fade on them at least once every couple of weeks. As you say though, they are good for the money.

But like so many mods on here, there are 'issues' thaat have been reported by some but I can't remember what they were or if I agreed with their findings or not. A quick search on phaeton should dig it up.

I have also heard reports that the Phaeton mod makes fade worse...

thanks for highlighting the post on the hot front brake problem. very strange- counter intuitive result. I have a laser temperature gun and will check front brakes next time at track.http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.as ... rm=KEYWORD I am sure you can get similar in UK.

Haven't got them yet but will be ordering in a couple of weeks (along with the PSS9s) so they are there and ready for when I get home but I'm going to be getting these

http://www.ppcgb.com/Audi/RS6-4B-4WD-20 ... 32-ct1533/

The 01 compound. Heard good things about them so hopefully they will be a good pad in the 6 plus I don't think that's a bad price for performance pads for calipers the size of ours.

Was originally going to go for the Pagid Greys (RS-15s) from the same site as got them in the track car and they are awesome but thought I'd give something else a go.

I know of Performance Friction but my knowledge/experience of them is about 5 years old now. a fair few in the Scooby community dabbled with them/probably still do. Expensive but good resultss overall but if memory serves you needed to be pretty spot on with the type you chose. Sorry, vague at best there....

When is the last time you changed your brake fluid? If it happens that often, I would start with that.

There is also the way one drives. I got 4 laps at Brands hatch indy in my maserati before the brake pedal went to the floor, and when I removed the front wheels, the pads on one side had bubbles coming off. Both disks were dark blue. I thought about the way I braked, changed that and I got 10 laps and the brakes held up.

I use the paddles for engine braking quite a lot as well.
