Surely massive amounts of heat soak there?

My thoughts exactly. Plus what is the point of putting the filters after the funnels? Seemed wrong.

And yet Dahlback are hardly inexperienced. They are certainly no jokers when it comes to modifying cars.

Maybe it was a prototype and they didn't bother doing any more. It looks a bit handmade. I personally think that if you are going to get rid of the OE carbon cover, then you are better off just having nothing. At least it looks functional then.

Ok, im going to do a normal 246 thing here and take left turn from this topic. Bonnet vents is my choice of left turn, couldn't they be put above the filter cover??
How do other manufacturers get away with water/electric problems?
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

There is absolutely no way around massive amounts of heatsoak on that system as it stands and I have no idea what they are thinking with the cone filter setup and airflow with that. At the very least they should have been looking at something along the lines of slightly scaled down BMC CDA systems on either side......

Without wanting to ambush this I thought this might be a little relevant :?: --- I was have a diog/vag com check done this morning to clear old codes and as had an intermitent emissions light showing and when under the hood noticed the below  Now ive never noticed or seen that before .... but it isnt showing a fault up from the maf etc and I was also wondering what gains or in my case losses you would get that forward hence the mod previously shown..... Those filters must have some value dont they....

Any way I think its simply fixed with a hair dryer and the like but would welcome any input on how or even how it happended!! Does look like jubilee is a little tight on the gator and also one of the self retaining screws at the front of the air intake had come loose.

Classic. This is what happens when grease monkeys get frustrated and force the funnel into the boot instead of teasing it in. Whoever serviced your car last should be shot.

I bought a new one for mine. About £60 IIRC.
