Hi guys,
My B5 seems to have developed a problem, it is intermittently loosing boost, usually when I am over-taking!
The car then goes into limp mode.
When I get home and turn the car off, leave it for a few minutes, and then go back to it and start it, its fine!! (until it happens next time)
Its happened a few times now, any ideas what it might be??

Re: Intermittent Boost
I had that problem on my B5 and it was the fuel lines (rotten inside), also problem with one way valves can cause that. Obviously check your DV's first.

Re: Intermittent Boost
A health check by a specialist would be the first port of call.
It could be as said before, fuel lines, DV's, boost leak, maf. The list goes on.
The specialists to contact would be JJB, Bahnstorm and Unit 20

Re: Intermittent Boost
probably an egt sensor intermittant - you need to check codes first.

Yeah ordered a VAG-COM lead yesterday will be a few days before I have it, was just wondering what the possibilities might be!!
Have read about faulty DV's in quite a few different places so hopefully is something minor like that.
Re: Intermittent Boost
every b5 owner should have Vagcom to check codes on a regular basiss. Intermittant is more than likely egt, lambda or n75 but those failures can be caused by maf reading wrong, leaks or bad fuel?

Yeah, I only bought the car just before Christmas, and had been meaning to get one, but as usual didnt get round to it until I actually needed it!!

Anyway, I've decided to replace all those niggly little sensors that can cause problems.
So Any others you'd recommend changing while I am at it?
By "n75" do you mean the diverter valves that are beside the throttle body?
If so I ordered a pair of them today, I also ordered a new MAF.
My local Audi dealership are useless it turned out to be a nightmare trying to order the thing!
Where abouts is the egt on the car?? as I pretty much need to know the location of the item for the dealer to be able to find on his diagram!

Cheers,
