Just had a Milltek fitted
Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
ask grizz what he fitted to my black rs6 plus (probably one of his largest bills - I certainly won't forget it)
I have Mitek 3" decat Downpipes and decat Mitek system with plus tips - told grizz I wanted the most bhp without major engine rebuild work. I think 530bhp is about right, it's about as quick as my 997 turbo in a straight line.
It also produces much more noise than plus system, not too much on tick over, but enough to remind others its no ordinary estae car, and from 4krpm - it sounds immense -especially under load upto 6.5krpm. Ticks all the boxes for me, no drone or boom. Absolutely Spot on...
However , biggest issue for me is the fumes. Something we forget these days, now that all cars have cats on them, the smell reminds me of my old mans superchiped 1985 e30 BMW 325i sport used to kick out ( might sound like a banger but it was brand new at the time, and that then boys was a quick motor....).

Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
Forgot to say thanks for your take on that DaveDaveperc wrote:Just had a browse round the Milltek site. It looks as though you are right - their 100Cell sports cat product includes larger downpipes (presumably with nothing in) plus the 100 cell cats.I was led to believe that by fitting the Milltek 100 cell DP cats to my car along wqith the Milltek system, that all the other cats were removed and these 2 100 cell jobs became the only cats in the Exhaust system?
So this is about the minimum street legal set up in terms of cats.

Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
Why not have the alcantara changed to leather Amar, will be cheap and a quicker way of changing the interior. Now shut up moaning about the bloody steering wheelAmar wrote:Haha, gits.
Her car was awesome to drive, apart from the slipping gearbox. It was the perfect noise, drone isn't a problem. Just push the peddle a little less or more. I took it out on my own and came back 15 mins later grinning. I'm sure the tyres were a scrambling for grip at 40mph with all the torque. It also confirmed my steering wheel (four spoke) is truly crap, and full leather is the way forward. Sorry for moaning like a b*tch Dunc, I'm actually not that miserable in person. The C6 brakes were great too by the way, I can see why Amanda loves her RS so much now!!

Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
I must just be an old man as give me auto every time now. I was driving Autos from 10 years old, way before I learnt manual. Had manuals right through to until I got the Jaaag, at which point I became certain that for me, in a stupidly powerful car that climbs through the gears very quickly, I would much rather have an auto doing that for me rather than constantly changing gear. Don't get me started on traffic with a manual.... Yes Autos can be (very in our case) problematic but my god they make things easy

Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
me too. i always swore id never have an auto but ive now had 3 in a row and would struggle to go back to a manual. as long as theres a means of changing manually i'm more than happy. a good autobox makes a manual seem agricultural.
Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
It all depends when the fella who is selling his RS4 decides to sell, it could be this summer, or next.
It has Milltek 100 cell sports cats, a full milltek, short shift, Bilstein PSS9 and an MRC custom remap. I'd pop an RNS E and some RS 4 B7 bucket seats in there, job done. Actually selling the RS6 isn't going to be easy, I know it won't easily be replaced, but I NEED to get the B5 RS 4 out of my system, it cornered so flat yesterday, a bit like my BMW and I want a manual badly, I don't mind the auto at all and think it suits the RS 6 as its a big heavy bastard, but the B5 with a manual will be awesome. I even really liked the interior on it, the only downside I can see doing this change is the noise, it didn't sound as good as my car, but you can't have it all. Plus, with the change from a C5 to a B5 I will be able to put £7-8k in the bank and still have a nice car, whilst the money isn't the reason I'm changing, it is a nice bonus.
This is the B5 for anyone interested, it is immaculate inside and out.

get it bought!

Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
Lol @ Dipper, I'll let you know. I did actually give Amanda first refusal but think she says she has put her name down for a C7, I'll keep in touch though.
Just to go back on topic, here are some photos I took on my iPhone yesterday of the Milltek.
I've also got an option to buy a cheap MTM box TCU, it was great putting Amanda's in third at 30 MPH, can the MTM TCU do this?

You'll also note, I've taken the spacers off now.

Erm, 3rd or 5th?Amar wrote: I've also got an option to buy a cheap MTM box TCU, it was great putting Amanda's in third at 30 MPH, can the MTM TCU do this?
I use 5th fairly often at 30 where she is pretty well pulling the car along on idle, good old torque

Re: Just had a Milltek fitted
Yep that's what I meant. I can get the MTM box TCU for virtually nothing that's why I was asking, but yep I know the MRC one does too. Think Amanda's is Viper so he must do it too now.
