Advice re Servicing an RS2

Post by Cobstar » Tue Feb 18, 2003 12:40 pm

Hi Guys

Still running round with a silly smile on my face and bouncing like Tigger 'cos I went out and put a deposit on an RS2 on Saturday.

I'm planning to pick the car up this Saturday and I'd be grateful for your advice re servicing as she's due a service.

In recent years she's been serviced by an independent Audi/VW specialist who has some Porsche experience too. For the last 10 years I've had my cars serviced by a fantastic local independent service and repair specialist. He's ex-VW but isn't a VW Audi specialist as such. Should I maintain the RS2's service history with a VAG Specialist or stay with my local mechanic - who I am very happy with?

The options for servicing at the moment are:

the non-VAG specialist we've used for our cars for last 10 years

garage that has serviced her in recent years

Quattrosports - though not intended to mod her so will they be interested?

A N Other recommended Audi specialist in South East

Any views/suggestions?

I seem to remember a birdy telling me that the RS2 is sometimes better serviced at a Porsche dealer. Might also be worth investigating.

Thanks for the advice.

The garage that have been servicing her in recent years are VW/Audi specialists but the owner also has Porsche experience. She's due a service now so I think I'm going to take her to him this time.
