I have never, ever, ever got the Single Speed thing. Seems more of a city/urban thing than anything to me but that is just my simple take on it. The Atacs are easy to get in/out of with pretty good float but don't surprise unlock on me unlike the CB's when going for it. My knees couldn't handle 15 degree unclipping, nutter!bam_bam wrote:I ride fixie and I've never had an issue with the eggbeater, the reason I love 'em so much is the 6 degree float and that you can clip in forwards or on a rollback heel down. You can also flip the cleat and have a 15 degree float/release but I fell flat on my face the first and last time I used 15 degree.

Personally, I just tend to stick to One-X in telecommuter mode to a standard landline, to keep it simple.

Sorry, was keeping it simple on the reply. We only managed the networking on these, the phone companies that provide them to our clients were jobsworths who forced us down the site to site route only and to add insult to injury never let us access the controllers etc. We had to teach them stuff! Grr.

Re: Pics of mine - aka the blank canvas!
Love it
Right, back to the car, hopefully everyone hasn't unsubscribed! In a quandry. I can get some Bimotos that are in need of a total refurb but I think the guy is asking too much and wants to charge extra for everything under the sun like £35 to take the farked tyres off, £50 to get someone to package them basically etc etc. After paying to send them to refurb, paying for the refurb and paying to get them back here I am looking at about 1k and then I have to get new centre caps from MTM etc as the ones on there are blank. Factor in tyres and I am looking at £1600 at the very least really.
Based on the fact that I have lots and lots of tread left on my 18" 'option' alloys that I will want to sell straight away, what could I realistically sell them for? The tyres and rims are in really good nick, the centre caps are a bit tired imo.
Opinions welcome

I think you'll more likely be spending 800 on tyres, if not more. You don't want to be putting ling longs on.
People will want your 18" for winter tyres, possibly. If there ever is a winter again.

Re: Pics of mine - aka the blank canvas!
This guy sounds a <beep> (sorry if he's your mate, Amar). Tell him you'll have them picked up and just get a wheel courier to sort the rest, it doesn't matter if they get dinged on delivery, you're getting them refurbed, ne? Some goes for the tyres, the refurbers will have to pull the tyres off anyways, don't have them reinstalled.Mr Footlong wrote:Love it

IMWO - BiMotos are <beep> (except the new ones forged by BBS), they're too heavy, too soft and too dated. Prefer the C6 OEM 19s as an alternative.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I think the RS4 B7 wheels look good on the C5, but I don't like mixing eras.

Re: Pics of mine - aka the blank canvas!
It's not Amar's chap. I have seen maybe 1 or 2 comments about them being like butter but nothing much really? 20's are out because I flat out refuse to believe that the ride comfort isn't compromised, this will be the first car I have ever had where when putting thinner rubber on the wheels has resulted in no changed to the ride comfort. It doesn;t make sense to me to fork out a lod of money for OEM wheels when for what might not be much more money, I can make my mark on this car just a bit more. Don't want to look chav but I don't want to look standard either. I really liked the look of the Bimotos

Remembered this from another thread I did a while back about spacers, bugger bugger bugger. Ben, the 2nd pic makes them more tempting but still not quite right for me, thanks thoughAmar wrote:The S8s are are 30 or 35 profile I'm sure and were smoother then my S8 18" Avus ones which were 40 profile, a lot of other people have found this too. Are you gonna keep DRC? If so, any 20" wheels will look a bit odd, and currently your car looks really good.
