Which pads for quattro gmbh brakes
Which pads for quattro gmbh brakes
After many fights, Audi have replaced my quattro gmbh brakes which were blue and scored. They told me that I must not use the Yellow pagid pads that come with the brakes. I don't why they sel them to me?
What is the best pad for quattro gmbh brakes front and back if I want to drive hard on the track? I donot want brake fade and damage disks
thanks you
Chris

The yellow pars are the recommended one from Quattro but do have some disadvantages, they sqeal like pigs and also they are very hard and you will get through discs very quickly if you track the car, so a softer option padgid pad would be an option blue or orange methinks.

I found greenstuff to be very good pads for use on the road as they seem to deposit very little dust onto the alloys (high kevlar content), but found them to fade quickly with hard use on the track after approx 5/6 laps, EBC's web page does not recommend them for trackday use. I would definately use them again as a road pad though (hate cleaning alloys at the best of times) as they also appeared to be very kind to the discs.
Do a search for 'pagid' on the forum search engine- Im sure there are some links to companies who sell these Pads, IIRC they are about £160 for the fronts and £90 for the rears.

Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.

After reading this post and NOT wanting warped discs etc, have decided to take my yellow pads off the rear and replace them, not withstanding the fact the noise is scaring pedestrians at bus stops by traffic lights!!!
Spoke to the Audi Dealer SKFay and the ones they recommend / only supply!! (apologies for any spelling) are JURIT? or something sounding similar UK64 per set.
Any comments on these before I try and silence the squealing pigs under my rear arches and have them fitted. Car doesnt get a hard life and has only covered 8k miles
Strange thing is that they have only just started squeaking over the past 2 weeks and 1000 miles after the car had stood still for a month.
