haha ... my wheels only ever get scratched if i let the missus drive the car - the only time she will ever drive the R8 is if I step on a IED and all the ambulances in the world have spontanously combusted

I wasnt jumping on the Lepson's band wagon, just that i didn a lot of research when getting my S4 wheels done and Lepson were recommend by many many many places - after using them i know why.

Im sure there are others that do a good job, i was just passing on my experience. I Will be using Lepsons again in the spring on the RS4 as they referb the dealer did is already starting to peel off.

I wasn't meaning you Spikeyboy,I was just meaning in general, whenever refurbs are mention these always seem to be the boys mentioned.
If people are local and they are good then certainly worth using.I was just meaning there must be more local firms for people from other areas

Jules,

I was only giving some feedback on my own personal experience after having done quite a bit of my own research. Just trying to help other members on the forum.

A little bit out of your way but very good company : pristine wheels in Woburn Sands near Milton Keynes. They are the business , top quality work . color , fantastic paint/laquer . If wheel is bend even badly they can fix it . I had quite a few done there and the work was top class. they work a lot on exotic cars as well. :nodder:

BTW for those that have had there wheels refurbed by Lepsons, do they paint the inside and back of the wheels the same colour as they face? As Audi OEM wheels have a base coat (diff colour) on the back and inside.

In the same boat here. Just phoned Lepsons and Pristine. Lepsons quoted 320 + VAT for a std silver finish or 400 + VAT for a silver finish with chrome (not actually a chrome finish). Now I know the OEM rims have some kind of silver flecks added but cant work out if the which of the two will give an OEM finish.

Pristine (who are much closer to me) quoted similar prices, ive used them before and they did a good job, however they couldn't rebalance the wheels .... even after 2 subsequent visits. They were pretty much useless in offering a solution and the guy in the Shop didnt really seem to care. In the end i took it to another tyre company who balanced first time. Pristine refunded the 13 quid balancing fee but it left a sour taste and im not sure i really want to use them again.

Neither of the two companys could answer what the OEM RS4 silver wheel finish is so couldn't provide a definate cost. Which IMO is pretty poor for specialist refurb companies.

Soooooo .... anyone know the paint code for the OEM silver wheels? (a google search proved inconclusive!)

I'm sorry Pete, but them prices are a joke,no way would i pay that,ok im fortunate that i get a lot done so get looked after.
I would be charged £50 each inc vat tops.

I would cetrainly try to get there prices down, maybe they start high to see if anyone is daft enough to pay it.

Remember we are in tough times so most people will expect you to haggle
