Bilberry wheel cleaner and a Karcher mixing bottle?

Post by DazN » Wed Dec 21, 2011 1:11 pm

I have just bought my first lot of Bilberry wheel cleaner and I'm really impressed with the stuff, my wheels were quite dirty. Spray on with a manual pump spray, quick bit of a brush (and I mean literally 30 seconds per wheel) and then a blast with the Karcher and they are really, really clean, wow!

Then I got to thinking, my Karcher is the K3.540 and has it's own mixer bottle on the back, could I use that and put the neat Bilberry in there, use the Karcher to spray on, brush and then Karcher again to spray off?

I gave it a quick go but the wheels were already super clean anyway!!

I personally wouldn't use the Karcher mixer bottle as I tried mine with the Karcher detergent and it was naff / lasted about 2 minutes / poor mixture.

Nice one Daz.

Slightly vearing off topic,i have used loads of different pressure washers and they all break after a while.

Should i stop being tight and just get a proper karcher, are the worth the extra money ?

Cheers

Agree, load of tosh.

How about a foam lance?

Personally I would just stick with having it in a separate bottle.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Bought mine from the Karcher outlet, they're classed as refurbed but you can pay an extra couple of £'s and extend the guarantee to 12 months, so I did that and got a £200 washer for about £100. Only thing is they're really bad with frost as the seals go, so I wrap mine in a towel when I'm done with it.

I already have a foam lance too, works really well, in fact I think I'm complete now and the car is nice and clean - until tomorrow when I drive on these horrible wet salty roads!!

I once tried to bung some Megs Gold-Class shampoo into the detergent bottle on my PW. Using the low-pressure lance, I was expecting something part of the way toward a snow-foam lance, but all I got was a load of water that smelled like shampoo :bash: .
Reservoir ran out after about 40 seconds - was rubbish.

Now have a proper snow-foam lance and haven't looked back :D .

If you find it too much of a problem, get one of the bottle-spray things which you can pressurise by pumping it manually and then pull the trigger to spray the cleaner.
A little easier than the cheapo bottles where the pump action is in the trigger itself (like the bottles you see your missus use when she is ironing your shirts!).
