P.S I had an email asking us to confirm the same Sunday spot for 2012, what's the general consensus on this? As up till now the turnouts have been poor-average, and I think to keep our slot we really need strong numbers if this is going to continue through 2012
Nils. Unless we can get guaranteed numbers... personally, I'd let the booking go to another more needy club.
Everyone's got busy lives and doing two meets/track-days or whatever else people are up to on the same weekend.... always leaves the Ace as second choice.

Guess we could consider either ever other month OR move to a more convenient location, for people ? The Ace is great for me, but a long ride for many.

Nah keep it going. As the last of us (Tim, Will, Carl, Levent, James) headed off and I poped to the gents, I came back down and found a brace of B5 S4 Avants parked next to me! A young chap arrived shortly after in an 04 A3 3.2 quattro. People seem to be hearing about the meet through other channels and heading down to see what's going on. Long may it continue!

I have to apologise for my lack of attendance. I had every intention of doing all of them but Sundays at 6pm just doesn't suit. Midday or early afternoon I'm fine with.

Could always do an Old Orchard or Saracens Head meet then go for a blast around the Bucks countryside.

Sorry all.

If it was lunchtime, I would be likely to pop along.

The Old Orchard is Harefield (just down the road from me) which is a nice pub with good food/views and plenty of parking (allows dogs in the bar area). The Saracens Head is on Beaconfied High Street just off of J2 M40. Again a nice, more modern pub, good food but parking can be a mare.

This is not intended to take people away from the Ace meet and it doesn't need to be a regular thing or a Sunday. Just a couple of good places to meet with some nice tarmac around.

:biggrin3:

Oi! That rolling road day's really got to you hasn't it?

Seriously though, there are some great roads around there and not a million miles away from Ace.

Happily do it elsewhere as long as it's no further than 4 miles from my house and servers Rekorderlig!

Maybe we should make it competetive and have a prize for the best turned out car, I certainly would never win, driving from Margate on our filthy roads
