My new Porsche 993TT front Brake Kit has arrived!

Post by sitas3 » Tue Apr 06, 2004 8:17 pm

My new Porsche 993TT front Brake Kit for my S4 sourced from ECS Tuning in the USA via JBR Performance arrived today.

Ordering via the States saved me over £300 on the Amd/Qst price. :D

I'll be fitting this myself within the next few weeks...

Just out of interest I got a quote for some Movit brakes (for my M3) from JAS traction who looks like the UK distributor.

Here is the quote which seems a tad on the high side:

Custom colour and script available, price: Script £120 a pair. Colour change £125 a pair)
For Your E46 M3
We can offer the following Kits.
Fronts
322x32 4s3 @ £1610 + Vat
342x34 4m6 @ £1890 + Vat
380x32 4m6 @ £2765 + Vat
380x32 6m2 @ £3675 + Vat
Rears
322x32 4s1 @ £1890 + Vat

So the 6 pots on the front and the rear kits would set me back £6500 plus £200 per set fitting which sems a bit steep.

Grateful if you could confirm the suppliers name in the states and if possible what you ended up paying - PM me if you want.

Joshie,

I paid £1310 delivered including VAT for mine.. I got mine from ECS Tuning in the States organised by JBR Performance in the UK (http://www.jbrperformance.co.uk)

My kit includes:

Porsche 993TT (Big Red) 4 pot Calipers
Genuine Porsche 322x32mm discs
Custom ECS disc bells/caliper mounting brackets
Hawk high performance brake pads
replacement braided hoses
2 x Porsche anti-squeal shim kits for the calipers/pads
2 x Porsche brake wear indicator kit
1 litre of Ate Super blue racing brake fluid

you can order direct from ECS - nice with the current exchange rate being good...
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.

Simon, so you did get shims :D Excellent, same as me... Did you get two packs of 4? 4 for each piston size?
Your adapters look very thin! :)

Show us them fitted, mine go on tomorrow...

Guys

Have same here. Beware of the sides of the discs. The idea is that the disc capture the wind, in order to ventilate them.
The nerd that installed it first dit it wrong, and I was thinking that the brake was s*** at first, but no they work great.

Have not yet gone to the track with them...

By the way, heard about the Stage 4 which is an up-grade... have a look

Well, as you can see in the pictures, each disc there are two discs merged. And between the two discs there are alletes that are built in a bent position, from the inside to the outside. When operating in the right direction, this alletes grab the air into the disc, avoiding the disc to get overheated, which causes fading.

Hope this helps

Yeah, You are right. They changed the sides. And that caused the whole issue.
