Can you email me with any other distinguishing features that might allow me to identify it amongst the several Polar Silver cars with indeterminate ownership. I have a Polar Silver 95 plate RHD (standard spec)
Another RHD RS2 - Any idea where?
I'm stuck here in Hong Kong away from my baby (RS2, of course) for 6 months+ due to work. Been to see a friend and am waiting for a bus back to my apartment complex. The road is quite a busy one and there are some nice cars going by: a 993 Turbo (yummy!), a 355 Ferrari (nice engine note), an SL55 AMG in black (Essex-man's car, but mean-looking anyway), and...
...an RS2 !!!!!!!!!!!!WTF???????!!!!!!!!
Nogaro blue, no rails that I remember, but to be honest I was so dumbstruck and admiring the prettiness of the thing that I can't be certain, but looked in good nick. Can remember registration, though. The car was driving towards Repulse Bay/Stanley area of HKG island.
Our reach keeps getting longer....

Hi there. I have one of the RS2,s in Cape Town. Mine is rhdrive. No roof rails. Polar Silver. Stock Standard with 116000km on. I bought it up country after looking at a few in Cape Town. I test drove quite a few so I will still have some of the owners details if they havn't sold. I know of 3 blue ones, and 2 silver ones here. The other silver was sold recently for R290 000 ( $41500) but had only 69000km on it. I heard from one of the RS2 owners that there is a guy in Cape Town who has a 'new' one standing in storage. Some of the cars here have been chipped and fiddled with. I drove one example in Johannesburg which ran disgustingly on pump fuel. It's not worth re-chipping if you have to carry a can of race fuel in your boot!
95. RS2 RHDrive. Polar Silver. Stock Standard
We certainly have a very good representation of Polar Silver rhd RS2s on this forum.
Strange the spec changes for the different markets, I would have been quite happy to forego the roof rails for standard electronic climate control & heated seats. Just think how well you have to strap something down to keep it on the roof of an RS2

A new face
Hi there..
Just registered on your site, great to know there are other RS2 maniacs out there.
I am new to RS2's, had mine for about 8 months now. It is a 1995 (M) UK RHD car, standard (I think), RS Blue & blue Alcantar, no climate control but all the usual bits.
Have done many jobs on the car since I got hold of it (most paid for by the AA who failed to spot lots of faults on the inspection), so the car is now in much better shape, here is a brief list of the jobs
- main radiator
- cambelt & waterpump
- front top mount
- front lower wishbone bushes
- front balljoints
- rear antiroll bar bushes
- steering column bushes
- front drilled disc & pads
- front calliper rebuilds
- new rear calliper & 1 rear calliper rebuild, rear pads
- front brake pipes
- engine temperature sensors
- lambda probe
- new roadwheels (4)
- front end respray
- dashboard outside temperature display repair
everything else was fine !!!
Car has covered 164,000 miles and I use it every day for work (Guildford to Hammersmith in London), Average MPG is 22 - 23.
Previous cars have been an Audi 90 Quattro Sport 20v, and a 1976 911s before that. Other car is a 1978 911 turbo 3.3, a very interesting comparison to the RS2 (audi feels faster, 911 more of a challenge)
Impressions of the RS2 so far... a fantastic car, very underrated, only other Audi and VW drivers know what they are. Very fast and stable, too easy to be a hooligan, addictive acceleration. O the negative side I would prefer a faster gear change and a bit more feedback from the steering. Can be a very expensive car to keep on the road, Audi dealers don't know how to look after them and are incompetent, I would not trust them with a toaster let alon someting as complex as an RS2. Main dealer parts cost a fortune. Need to find a sympathetic and patient Audi specialist to look after it and make full use of the porsche parts suppliers to save a fortune. Luckily I have both on my doorstep here in Guildford.
Hope this information is of interest, I will try to contribute to the forum as much as I can.
Regards
PAUL

Paul,
Welcome to RS246.com.
As far as the gearchange is concerned some of us have fitted a short-shift kit which improves things a lot - do a thread search on www.S2forum.com. Cost about £57 on a group buy from the US incl. delivery. Just make sure you do the reverse lock-out mod too.
For parts Martyn and Alan at VAG Parts are both very knowledgable and much cheaper than the stealers.
RS2's were an expensive car new and are now getting on for 10years old, so unfortunately are fairly expensive to run - but like you say a fantastic car.

chipped and smiling!
Mine's chipped (wetteraurer) and fiddled with (air filter, exhaust)...but it runs like a dream. Pump fuel seems OK, although I use a bithiltron wrote:Some of the cars here have been chipped and fiddled with. I drove one example in Johannesburg which ran disgustingly on pump fuel. Welcome to the site Hiltron, good to see another RS2 in Cape Town!
Hey jeremy, I tracked you down again. D'you need details for my car or did you keep them from Pistonheads a while back?
I know of another RHD RS2 you may have come across, owned by Angus Fox? It's been a couple of years since I saw it but I'm pretty sure it was a blue one.
BlueKermit, which specialist have you found in Guildford? I've used QS Tuning last year for some work who I found were excellent but they're a little too far away, I live in west London so Guildford's just a short hop.
