Seat Latch ?

Evening all,

My rear seat (B6 avant) - the double one - does not 'click' and lock when you push it back into position after folding down.

Anyone else had this problem or know of an easy fix ?

it's not "locked" is it? if it's set so you can't open it, it may be that you can't close it either

No its not locked.....the mechanisum wont click back and lock once pushed onto the bar like the other seat does.

Anyone know if you can change the whole mechanisum ?

if the b6 is like the b7.. sometimes my large rear seat does not want to stay in the upright position because the handle does not return to the fully closed position on the top of the seat-back (even when you slam it back!)

sometime i have to kneel on the back seat, and push the seat-back backwards, and close the handle to the fully locked postion by hand

i think its just the latch spring has worn, or latch is sticking..

Yeah I have tried that but it felt like I was going to snap something so I gave up.....will give it another go then.

I'm sure the latch is sticking in the opening position or the return spring has popped out somehow.
