He threatened to throw my parts through my windscreen and then threw the axle out of his door - again, in front of his customers.
I guess it was a bad week then..

I don't know the in's and out's of this particular story....but I would say that there is always 2 sides in any dispute like this.

HiSpec have been trading for a fair few years now and if what this gentlemen is suggesting is the case then surely they wouldn't have any customers at all.

It is very easy to post things on the web like this without any facility for the other party to put their side.

HiSpec are not the fastests company in existance but the goods have always (IMHO) been first rate.

I've read through the list of complaints (about 10 ?) and they appear to be mainly in 2 catergories....number 1 (including the main guy) appear to be people who haven't bedded their brakes in correctly and then warp them and number 2 appears to be HiSpecs famous speed doing things.

I'm not saying that HiSpec are the best company in the world but they do design and produce quality brake products. They also promise the earth and rarely deliver on time. The 2nd issue has been resolved now that they have taken someone on to deal with the customers.

a mate at work has just received his hispec kit, as usual weeks & weeks late, no phone call returns etc (that is if you can get through!) - but it has to be said, once they've arrived, the do look decent kit. The jury is still out deciding if the difference in price is worth the extra hassle.

I knew someone that ordered Hispec brakes for his S2. They were supplied with a shim kit "due to manufacturing variations". This is total BS! I have measure many S2 brake systems (I made my own fully floating 362mm 6pot AP setup) and I never encountered such variations in tolerances which warranted so much adjustment. The truth is they didn't measure the original setup properly. I'll stick with my AP components and my own engineering judgement. One friend has also had many caliper failures and he is regretting going to Hispec. His seals were perishing. He drives the car every day like it was stolen but he never expected a 'high performance motorsport' caliper to be so naff. His word not mine!

Iwas seriously considering the HiSpec parts, mainly die to the cost.
I mailed HiSpec and asked for a quote and leadtime, never got a response.
Called them after 2 weeks and asked if they had received the mail "yes we will answer today"
Waited another week and still no response.
Called Kim at QST priced up the Movits, supplied and fitted within 5 days.

Movit were a lot more costly but at least I got them.
