Track Toy

Post by HYFR » Sat Oct 29, 2011 2:26 pm

Picked this up this morning

Why?

Well ... after the Ring & Spa, i've decided I want to do some more track days, just for fun ... im a <beep> driver, but want to have fun nonetheless

The RS 4 is too expensive to track for me, my banana needed tyres and brakes and was a bit of a dog if im honest (not mecanically, but paint) ... all this coupled with insurance of nearly £2k made me decide to get rid.

I am planning on another big V8/V10 next July, once some points expire and insurance is cheaper.

I wasnt specifically on the look out for one of these, but having had one before, I know they are great little fun cars ... not outrageously fast in a straight line, but really tight chassis and loads of grip.

This particular example has had only 2 owners, both enthusiasts, and the chap I bought it from was going to px it at Bath Audi today for an 2011 S3 Sportback, so lets just say I got it for a steal :bigblink:

Its mint for the miles ! My old QS, i bought with only 5,000 miles on !! So I know what a new one looks like, and this stands up pretty well to that, except for the worn alcantara steering wheel - will see if i can get a product to breath more life into it, or get it retrimmed or a new wheel.

Its been serviced every 10k, and just 2 weeks ago had a 10k service at Audi inc. Plugs .... brand new tyres also !! cambelt last yr

The best bit, is its got all the mods I would waste my money spending on it !

Forge short-shift kit
REVO Stage 2 Remap with Select Plus module
H&R Coilovers
Front & rear Neuspeed antiroll bars
Dual exit 3" Blue Flame downpipe, exhaust and cat-back
Forge boost valve
Zimmerman Drilled Discs

Its even got the nice Enthusiast touches that you only waste your money on cos your mad ...

Arm rest (Audi dont make one - so this is worth £200)
Custom 'quattro sport' mats, front / rear/ and boot ! with rubber over mats so they are mint !

full set of docs and receipts

Its pretty stripped out inside, but does have BOSE, air con and Xenons .... just two Pole Positions up front.

Anyway, pics below ... but mods planned (and booked in for):

- Cruise Control retro fit (for those long drives to the Ring ;-) )
- OEM TTS mk2 DRL LED front light kit
- Prob get the wheels done in Titan in trademark DK style
- Private Reg

So, as a gay track toy ... what do you recon ?

Splendid, you really have got the bug..awesome, a new track buddy ;)

The 3.2 QS is great, my ex had one (tiptronic) and was a right nippy car. ride quality was hard and she had to sell it as the Houston roads was killing it.

Looking good mate.

tidy example you got there, black wheels would look good imo and compliment the mirrors and top, mapped from factory too, and the standard exhaust sounds pretty meaty too,

i miss my 1.8 t a little, when i drove it it didnt feel like a 1.8 atall.

agreed no where near as gay as a standard one, but the previous owner left their hair net in the boot
